The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

Agree. If this was our supporters we would have called it out. Its despicable behaviour.

We havent been able to get moved for their supporters this week. Where are they this evening?

I always use Pompey as a good example. When that twat chucked the smoke bomb, it was the Pompey fans that got him lifted. Today, a Coventry fan chucked a glass bottle and those twats did nothing

Cant see much being done in all honesty unfortunately

Wonder if the mags have these issues as they have a similar set up

It’s that simply yet Donald wouldn’t pay £15k
No one should be surprised at that from the thief and his advisor .Bombard Davison with this, email a short letter or phone call which he won’t take but he will be told by staff the natives are not happy.

Aye I can remember they called it out thats why Im loathe to label them with this scum.

I asked one of their mouthpieces @Astute if he was proud of their support - he hasnt replied.

Cheats and cowards. Cant think of better words to sum them up. Hopefully what goes around comes around.

Of course safety of our fans is paramount.

I would ban Coventry from the SOL as a first step as it is only this fan base that thinks this behaviour is acceptable.

I think CCTV is the answer and then encouraging the authorities to chuck the book at anyone who carries out this cowardly and disgusting behaviour.

Just had a look at the Coventry forum - one of their posters said it is only one bottle and one flair...they obviously think this behaviour is acceptable. Thats the mentality of thier fanbase- some of them need locking up.

Cheats and cowards.

i'd ban coventry fans in a heartbeat before i'd entertain moving them to the lower bowl

there are endless examples of home and away fans being above/below each other all through the football league, so the location of the SOL away end isn't the problem. the problem is the scummy fans who do it, and the decent fans amongst them who don't grass them up. the obvious, easy answer to install a net. the least amount of disruption and cost possible, and an instant solution

no one in the history of the SMB and this subject has been able to propose a logical, realistic location to move them to.

I have been critical of Mr Davison recently but Im not sure what he can do if a set of fans think its acceptable to chuck broken glass onto people below.

Fair enough.

A question would be; could a net be easily removable so we could we just use it for these coventry animals?

It seems a bit unfair to treat all away support the same when its just coventry supporters who think this disgusting behaviour is acceptable.

It's absolutely bang out of order. The only thing you can do is either reduce their allocation or place a net or something in the way. Seems to be the same teams every season.

People will say 'move the away fans' but doesn't matter where you move them to, someone will say it's the wrong area. I mean I think SEC would probably be the best place for them to go but who knows.

I guess if they were on the bottom tier it means they aren't throwing things downward but it would result in them potentially having more influence on the game.

I dunno but it's ridiculous.

I agree although it would be interesting to see if he was the one that agreed the additional 500 Coventry tickets

They'd be throwing them sideways instead.

He can organise with the boy owner to put mesh in such a position it would stop this thing happening. If he or the boy cared about their fans they’d do it sharpish. I wouldn’t hold my breath, the ticket shambles proves it once again

i'd probably wager that the SEC would be the least worst place for them, however, that means that the away turnstiles and away end access would be from the SEC corner turnstiles, directly infront of the Stokoe statue (that hundreds of people use as a meeting point every game, and usually has safc scarfs, memorobilia placed around it) and is also the busiest area outside the ground on a match day as every single person from south of the river and roker avenue way come past that corner on their way into the ground. moving the away fans to this corner would cause major hassle for the coppers outside the ground

and within in a couple of games you'd have safc fans going 'who's idea was it to move them here, theres hell on every game, move the away fans!'
