Future Tours Programme

Sourced from elsewhere so cannit vouch for accuracy.

Nov-Dec 22 – Pakistan 3 tests
Feb 23 – New Zealand 2 tests
Early 24 – India 5 tests
Late 24 – Pakistan 3 tests
Late 24 – New Zealand 3 tests
Early 25 - Nothing planned?
Late 25- early 26 – Australia 5 tests
Late 26-Early 27 – South Africa 3 tests

Nothing pencilled in for Sri Lanka which is a brilliant overseas tour.

Well that’s my plans scuppered then! Was hoping to visit go to West Indies or Sri Lanka in the near future and take my partner as well.

I’ve done Australia and South Africa recently so probably won’t fancy those again immediately. NZ would be great though a bit far and pricey. Pakistan would be interesting but no idea on current security situation and don’t reckon my partner would fancy it. I guess that leaves India which I’ve heard is amazing, albeit rather full on.

Why have two trips to NZ and Pakistan within two years?

I cannit vouch for the accuracy, it was what I lifted from a group I'm in that champions overseas tours. Do we not have to play games as part of this world test championship? Also other countries have to be available too (they might already have summat planned with another country).

But 2 tours in 3 years??
We've only had one tour in 10 years against them. 3 away to Windies in the last 7.

So by the time we next go away Windies again we'll have played both 3 times in 10 years.

5 in 12 against New Zealand is strange. Clearly just enjoy playing them.

South Africa is going to be 4 in 17 years now.

I’m aware of the stats, but it is intended that everyone plays everyone within a 4 year cycle.

So I find it odd that we play two teams twice within 3 years away from home.

We played Sri Lanka away 18/19 and 20/21(it was supposed to be 19/20 as well)

Guess cos of COVID everything has gone a bit awry with the scheduling to pay each other back and stuff.

Be more about money now than fairness of playing everyone.

For those missing the Windies, there’s a T20 WC there - and the USA - in a couple of years’ time.

Only in Florida in the USA innit?
Out of that lot (despite my moaning about them) India is probably the one I'd most likely do. Not too fussed about Oz, NZ too far and expensive as well, done SA, and not sure about security in Pakistan.

I might be up for India if they play in Chandigarh. Would be able to tie it in with a train ride up to the British Raj summer capital Shimla.
