Franklin Out!!!

Genuinely, who else is there? Aside from Bushnell, there’s perhaps maybe only McAlindon and MacIntosh (sp?) waiting in the wings.

Perhaps the coaches as a collective have decided they aren’t ready?
I think you’re constantly missing the point in all this.
If Durham have no young players ‘waiting in the wings’ then it’s the fault of the club, it’s coaches and it’s talent spotting.

However you want to break it down, either the club are not giving a youth a proper chance, or they are not developing young players to the required standard in the first place. Either way the club is at fault and needs to take steps to address a serious issue.

Clearly you’ve missed my point, because that’s EXACTLY what I am arguing 🤷‍♂️.

As a push back to those who wish to blame every single bad thing that happens at the club solely on one man (James Franklin).

In September 2015, Essex sacked Paul Grayson in a season when they finished third in Division 2! On that basis Franklin is a very lucky man to still have a job at Durham, unless of course we have no ambition whatsoever.

The time has come.

We are not lucky enough sadly don’t know what he has to do be sacked. Dismal results awful player recruitment youth not really coming through. But we are spending no money though so all good!

Not to the quality we have produced in the past young lads been chucked in before they are ready. We are very short on experienced pros to bring younger players along.
Said this at the start of the season and was told by the usual SMB experts that it was better to play young Durham academy lads.

We're not far short of a balanced mixture of promise and experience. Lees, who will play most of early season games,Jones, Borthwick and Bedingham is a quality top 4 with Trev, Bushnell and Macintosh as a developing middle order Once established these youngsters can move up the order.Likewise with the bowling Rushy,Raine and Carse plus an overseas bowler with Gibson, Mackalinden and Killeen rotated to gain experience. Our experienced players are clearly p!ssed off with North and Franklin with their inept selections and recruitment. Replace them with experienced past players who are familiar with the Durham model. Retain them and we'll regress into oblivion. Should be obvious to any genuine Durham supporter.

That's my worry, we do seem to have some good young'ns coming through but they will need some help
I'm all for playing the younger players and stand by that view. To my surprise & dissapointment, some of the senior haven't stepped up in terms of support (I've mentioned some examples when the captain needed to show leadership and go over to the younger players and put an arm round them instead of ignoring them for example) & numerous times the young players have been let down by the coach/selectors. The one senior player who has supported best is Rushworth. Goes without saying we need to see changes.
