Be happy to stay up, been out of the league a fair while so don’t know where the standard is, therefore as a newly promoted club first aim has to be stay up…..that view may change as season develops, it may not

As for O’Hare v Pritchard I haven’t seen enough of O’Hare to comment, probably similar to your ability to have a view on Pritchard.

Personally I just don't care about Coventry tbh, not bothered about something that happened in the 70s, not bothered whether O'Hare is better than Pritchard etc. Just another run of the mill club tbf. I don't know of anyone personally that see Coventry as some sort of rival at all. Only recent memory I have is when soon as you got promoted and the majority of the Coventry fans were on social media mentioning us, even though we were nowhere near promotion that season iirc. Seemed a tad obsessive that.
There's quite a few of you on here the last few days, as you were when we were in league one. Doubt there's many Sunderland fans on the Coventry message board.
Coventry remind me a bit of Middlesbrough really, they always seem more bothered about us than the other way round.

Coventry are not a 'rival' they are a skid mark on the underpants of football - cheating ba$tards who f*cked us over twice.

Yeah it’s strange given it happened before most of our time. Then again, I suppose if your team was set back a decade cos our chairman cheated, you lot would probably feel the same.

Ive been invited onto a couple of Coventry boards by friends who support them and as soon as they have realised im a Sunderland fan ive been removed (without doing anything wrong or winding them up), they are pretty petty, most on their boards couldnt care less about us but there are a few who seem to absolutely detest us, very strange fanbase.

I remember playing them at the SOL in 99 (1-0)and in 06/07 (2-0). Both times Coventry bought up about 200, there was zero edge or feeling that they were big games. It's exploded in recent years because of social media.

Totally wrong that you should be removed for no reason, I could understand if you were there to wind up or antagonise, whatever happened to discussion and freedom of speech ?

Picking a professional centre half to play at centre half isn't "hanging him out to dry".

I agree that AN used him much more "sparingly and strategically". In that he used him extremely sparingly indeed, so as to not fuck up our strategy of keeping clean sheets.

Big fan since the early 80s mate, and yeah i could understand being removed if i was being a dick but im not like that, just seemed a bit petty like i said, ive seen most Sunderland v Cov games since the early 80s home and away and theres rarely been any problems, social media has a lot to answer for.

Of course we would, what went on was wrong but as others have said it didn’t appear to be a big issue until relatively recently.
