Callum Doyle

I get the dislike at the time of the delayed kick off and for a while after that. My Dad was livid, never forgave them but the rivalry now is a manufactured one. Not helped by the second delayed kick off relegation or Speedie trying to knack Bennett but there’s no real need for it.
I was at Goodison that night - a mini bus trip from uni at Sheffield. Disappointment was replaced by annoyance with Jimmy Hill.

I have never understood the subsequent hatred of all things Coventry - the club, the fans and the city.

It is not dissimilar to Sunderland with its car industry and engineering background.

Where do you Sunderland fans realistically expect to finish?

I saw someone say on here Pricthard is better than O'hare 🤡

I've seen a lot of stick for Doyle, but at 17 he wowed a lot of us in his first few months. The clubs fault for expecting him to carry us at that age, he's no Dele Alli in that respect.
Doyle did nothing wrong for us. If not for injuries he would've been rested earlier. He's going to be a very good centre half, he's only 18. I guess we signed Ballard permanently do didn't need Doyle again. Maybe one more older experienced centre half will come in later. Or O9 can be used there.

To come in and play as many games as he did, at 17 year old in his 1st ever season as a professional was some doing.

He looked outstanding at 1st, but I think the sheer volume of games caught up with him, he quite clearly needed a spell out of the side to recharge but Johnson still played him every week and in the end he looked lost.

I think he’ll end up playing in the premier league for years to come, and probably pick up senior international caps. He has his limitations, but at 18 he has plenty of time to learn and carry on developing. I’ll be interested to see how he does at a higher level

Struggled 1st season though... Robins working miracles to be honest
The teams that have gone up since we've been in league 1, its about a 50% relegation rate within 2 years.

I feel like now is a decent time to go up, everyone bar the parachute clubs seems skint or reeling in spending to some degree, so it should in theory be more competitive

I don't get it though, literally couldn't give two shits about them, they're irrelevant.
That is exactly as it should be, we are over 150 miles apart and should mean nothing whatsoever but there was a poll on here not too long ago asking people to name the club they disliked most and from memory I think we were runners up to your near neighbours.
What happened in 77’ was wrong, I don’t expect you all to forget but it’s a very long time to carry a grudge.

Great post mate, just how I feel.
Apparently. Very odd.
We don’t see you as rivals, just sorry that you have a real dislike for us that stems from an incident that happened before most of us were born.
