How many times have you won the top flight of English football ?

How many times have you won the FA cup ?

What is your record attendance ?

What is your current ground capacity ?

But you got to a UEFA cup final once .

And you invented the parmo.

And your biggest rivals only focus on each other not you.

Tinpot.
How many times have you won the league cup ?

How many times have you won the Anglo-Scottish cup ? 😳

How many games have you played in European competition ?

How many seasons have you played in England's third tier ?

* Haven't had a parmo for years.
Used to love Funghi Parmo's, with Garlic butter in with the cheese topping

 And Hartlepool United are the worlds most successful football club, only been relegated 4 times, strange logic , Anglo Scottish Cup  How many times have you lost at Wembley? 😀

The Mags have gone to a 1000+ and a 600+ thread and now 159. I think South Shields had a 28 page thread….keep spinning the yarn and you’ll beat the sand dancers [that’s a Geordie/Mackem word for people from SS…..but of course you know that as your from the north east]
Whatever marra.

Is that the best reply to when facts are presented ‘whatever marra’ ? Good job we don’t bring up topics such as trophies won, stadium size, average attendances, best away support, but of course nothing like sado voyeurs trawling another teams website. Why don’t you look at a club with similar types of supporters eg. Rotherham

These people. Who say it’s not a derby are talking out their arses! It’s only 9 miles further from my house in sunderland to the riverside than Sid James and 4 mins quicker to get there according to google maps!

And besides. They care enough to say it’s not a derby when clearly it is. 😉

As I've already said, I count myself lucky that I've seen my club win a trophy and reach a European cup final. Also had the pleasure of seeing amazing talents like Juninho, Mendieta and Viduka play for the Boro. Same can't be said for Sunderland fans around my age.

As for your comment re our support. We may not get the crowds you get (pretty understandable when you factor in catchment areas and ticket pricing) but we had the third highest average home attendance in the Championship last season, and the best away support in the division. We do alright I'd say.

Thats really weird - Rotherham fans (and any other clubs fans) will be just as passionate about their clubs as you are about yours.
Talk about being up yourself - watch out Liverpool , Man City and all if you ever get back in the premier league - mind you, they'll all have the REAL cup final to look forward to if that happens.

Boro have had the Indian sign over us the last 10 years. Before that we had a good little run with Sess, Daryl Murphy even Chopra.

A bit like Burton Albion, I generally expect a draw at best as I do think some teams for whatever reason have an edge in certain games.

They have a decent team, especiallly with McNair Jones and Fry in defence. Howson central. If they can sort the rest of the spine with a good keeper, and a 15 to 20 goal man , they could well be champions.

I am going to keep my powder dry until we have played them.

Then, should we somehow get a nice juicy win, I will drive all around their heartlands with my Sunderland scarf hanging out the window.

If you are based south of Hartkepool, and north of Thirsk , it matters.

What every happened yesterday is history, whether 10 years ago or 40 years ago…you’ve won 1 trophy. I my opinion your catchment area is as big as any club, also with no competition from any other club

I get that, you're a more successful club.

As I keep saying though, during my lifetime my club has had more success than yours, so I count myself very fortunate in that respect.

It's a derby in the same way that - for example - Leeds vs Sheff Weds (or United) is a derby. It's a long way from being the biggest match of the season but it's there for a bit of needle and wind-up if needed... but there sufficient miles between the two to make it less of an event than your traditional derby.

There's been some high-energy competitiveness between the clubs going back years that has been added to by our geographical proximity - and if you live in certain area's of Co Durham or North Yorks then that's gonna be heightened even further.

It's daft to say it's 'just another game'.

Anyway - main question.... how many tickets are we going to get for the Riverside?

That because one of your own is setting ridiculous prices. Quite bad really

Don't agree with our pricing structure but I do understand the rationale behind it.

Club offers an early bird price to encourage season ticket holders to renew and if you don't, you're going to have to pay over the odds as a new buyer.

You're bragging about Viduka, we had the only Englishman to ever win the European Golden Boot!

You're forgetting we had a decent run in the Prem when yous were in the Championship though.

Steed Malbranque, Bolo Zenden (aye yous know all about him), a young Jordan Henderson, Yann Mvila, Stephane Sessegnon, Darren Bent, Jermain Defoe. We've had some good players turn out here as well...
