Fair enough and technically you are right. However the crowd was deafening at the time, Lees weight was all over the place and it was always tight. Root knew he could make it but he could also see the big picture and I think it was a poor call by him.

I can see that view, yes. I just think you have to be proactive and always looking for singles. I guess the downside is you will always get the odd run out.

No idea tbf, but it seems mad to add an extra 8 overs but not extra time considering the over rates in the test.

Might be wrong but they do add time, but to a maximum of the 1 hour I think. With the test starting 10:30 then I think 18:30 is the cut off. Paying customers being short changed is another issue mind (though no one will be complaining about this days play I doubt!)
