England v India 5th Test, Edgbaston (1st July) Match Thread

Wouldn’t have played billings but get the argument of not messing with Bairstow at the moment
It’s an interesting one this, as there is not much cc after this match and if billings has a good match, will foakes return for the saffer series?

Billings will be high profile in the 100 in the next few weeks, whilst I don’t think foakes is in there and will have to settle for the 50 over cup

then of course the eternal question mark over Crawley

Interesting stuff. Well I hope he is proved correct, however when the saffers are here and Crawley gets out for single figures in four tests, that comment may return to haunt ben

virtually saying Crawley is undroppable, whilst dropping others in the team?

putting himself in a dodgy position imo

That's utterly stupid. So Crawley grabs 2 ducks then starts the south Africa series
Exactly, it’s a very strange position he has put himself in

making one player undroppable will cause resent from those that have been dropped, eg foakes and Overton, who has scored more runs than Crawley in one innings

Odd this mind. Of course things looking great so far under Stokes and Baz so who am I to criticise however I honestly can’t see how it wouldn’t be good for Crawley to spend some time in the CC and regain some confidence rather than continuing to be shot to shit each innings
The thing is there are no CC games up coming as we are nearly at the 100 and 50 over comp period

they are saying he’s undroppable. Can’t be having that. Root is undroppable, not a player who has failed like crawley

Blue for Bob Day is back! Edgbaston will once again be turning blue at the deciding England v India test match in honour of the great Bob Willis raising awareness and funds to fight prostate cancer. Please wear a splash of blue if you are coming to the game and supporting this cause.

I'm expecting Ghfd to get the Blue Ribands and Blueberry Pies out for tomorrow's tea 😉

Did anyone see England's training video were a coach hit a ball in the air with bat and another coach with a helmet on headed it and England fielders have to catch it

Buzzing for this today.

Looks like we might be set alright but overcast this morning with some rain later this evening.
