Kalvin Phillips signing for Manchester City

Hes also less than half the player rice is tbf
Not sure about less than half but certainly a downgrade and is also a few years older. He's probably more mobile than rice but I still find it an odd transfer. Pep must see something though

I like him a lot, but he doesn't look quick or nimble enough for how they usually play, but then again I thought Altidore was a good signing at the time so I know nowt.

Not sure I agree. He was head and shoulders the best Leeds player and looked quality in possession and out of it. Personally I think its great move for the player and City.

When leeds are running about like headless chickens and city pass teams to death. I can’t see why Pep is bothering.

Great coach, but probably another circa £50m signing that will bring next to no value to city IMO.

Leeds should be happy though.

Rice is better positional, better passer and can also carry the ball 40 yards.

Most quality players just have something about them but I just cannot see it. If he’d signed for us I wouldn’t be excited….just not a game changer or even a good ‘water carrier’

League cup team, though to be fair, he has looked good at times. I feel he will be the anchor in midfield like Fernandinho was

They've lost one of their two quality players, are about to lose the other this Summer and have pretty much zero chance of being able to replace them with better.

I'd be gutted if I was a Leeds fan.

Don't disagree. But they obviously see it as better value for money I guess for what they need. Surprised they wouldn't have potentially looked abroad unless they want English players for the quotas
