I think that's a bit far fetched.

But just worth being accurate. Plenty you can have a go at nufc for without having to make stuff up to try and discredit signings that have done a decent job

He was easily let go, was he not? For a first team player you say, to be out on loan that easily

its up to you if you are happy with that, despite all the propaganda of the worlds richest club and so on.

you signed a Villa player that gerrard was happy to see the back of.

I have just checked and it waa digne who was benched in his final game at Everton before his transfer to villa.

Knew somebody was benched before making a move in this saga.

Yes I can see why Gerrard was happy to allow him to leave with Digne coming in. He's not as good going forward as Digne, and as we know full backs attacking is a huge part of the game now. Gerrard got an upgrade.

We also got an upgrade on what we had and I'm quite happy with him so far

Can't believe they're pretending Pope is an upgrade on what they have / had. 30 year old. Less than 10 England caps less than 150 premier league games and a relegation most recently under his belt.

It's good business in the fiscal sense but not the footballing sense. It's like they found Ashley's transfer list

Instead of Darlow or Dubravka it'll be Pope or Dubravka. Pope is better than Woodman or Darlow
Competition for the starting place is now stronger. Definitely an upgrade.

So if a player is good somewhere else you can't make a judgement on his ability until he's played for your own team, or compare him against your current players?

Wasn't the deal about €25-30m when first interest was shown and his release clause was around €30m? After a quick google I found this below. Hoy in the wages as that's supposedly over £100k a week over 20 weeks then that's another £2m for his 430 minutes Premier League football. That's pushing near to £5,000 a minute or £280k for an hour on the pitch :lol: He could well have had a personal bonus if the mags stayed up, as will other players as being relegated would have cost NUFC a shit load lot more than a few million in bonuses to players.

Reporters with club sources at Newcastle suggest the deal was agreed at just £12m plus add-ons.

However, Express Sport understands negotiations on Monday - when Atletico finally conceded defeat in their bid to keep Trippier - were pointing more towards a figure of £25m.

Trippier's current deal at Atletico is worth around £78,000 per week. It's claimed he will now earn upwards of £100,000 per week once he has signed on the dotted line at St James' Park.
