Durham’s T20 Campaign

I thought you consistently defended him. My apologies-I have obviously misinterpreted your posts.

You have I’m afraid.

What I’m doing is pushing back against WHED’s tedious as f*ck routine of blaming every single little thing that goes wrong on Franklin.

There are plenty of things to criticise him for and I think come September we need to be looking for someone else to take his place (if we aren’t already), but it’s really boring reading a load of made-up shit and totally unreasonable carping on from him about every little detail.

I’m surprised he didn’t blame Franklin for the little rain interval between innings’ tonight. I’m surprised he hasn’t blamed him for the poor quality Dukes balls or the flat pitches we’ve had to endure.

The thing is, I seem to remember he did exactly the same with Jon Lewis towards the end of his tenure at Durham too. The same boring as f*ck, unreasonable act.

I bet he wishes we still had Championship winning coach Jon Lewis around today, but of course he’s now an international coach. So clearly people within the game rate him. Even if a bloke from Wheatley Hill who has never even played the game doesn’t.
Didn't get a bowl either. As I keep saying Franklin has no faith in the young players at this club.

Where’ve we seen this before 🤔

Oh yeah:

It was Jon Lewis who didn't believe in the youngsters not the club

Seriously .Why did we ever re sign Coughlin.?
He was for ever a sick note but when he actually played he could bowl a bit and also bat a bit.its a pity that he couldn’t do either of those skills to a high degree of professional standard
He to me sums up Durham at the moment he is a bit part player like we are a bit part county making up the numbers at present

I never rated him massively tbh I have to say. Of all the players we lost I wasnt that arsed about him

Franklin is salaried as " lead high performance coach". Per se, anything that falls below high performance he's accountable for. The buck stops there.
I haven't a clue to whom or what you're referring to as WHED.
Incidentally,Jon Lewis was sacked as both Sri Lankan and Bangladesh coach after a very short tenure in both roles.

Didn't make it into the ground until the 4th over and left when Durham had batted for 15. I think at some point just have to admit Yorkshire are by far a better team, though how they didn't end up on 220/230 I'll never know.

Getting out of the overspill wasn't too bad I guess.

Sucker for punishment but going again on Sunday, I suspect the bairns will want to spend time at the Riverside park instead.

Well home, fed and watered.

Where to start really?

3 wins in 9 T20, 1 win in 8 red ball. The record of James Franklin as coach (or whatever his stupid title is) speaks for itself..... absolutely shit. I'll keep banging that drum as the results are facts, they aren't made up. Just like it's not made up that he left the club to go to the 100 last season........ Lead coach??????? - He's responsible for this, his fancy job title states so.

Tonight once again utter crap, & it's bordering on embarrassing watching Durham at the moment.

Can anyone explain out batting line up in this campaign and in particular tonight? Bushnell bats I think number 3 for the 2nd XI........... Why is he coming in at number 9 behind players like Paul Coughlin and Ned Eckersley... which clown is making these hideous decisions? It could also be argued why is Ben Raine so low down and Borthwick I think was number 10 tonight (someone will clarify, I was well away home by then). Just smacks of the lads just drawing lots half an hour before the game.... rock/paper/scissors.

With regards to the pie throwing bowling, is there any reason why Bushell didn't bowl for? What was he in the team for tonight, totally wasted talent, his fielding was the highlight of our performance.

Why did we sign Robinson for when our wicket keeper is playing as an outfield player.... again further evidence this fella has no faith in the youth/academy signing players from Kent/Middlesex. Bushnell was merely just thrown in tonight because of injuries, he wouldn't have played if Bedders/Tye were available.

The whole thing is just an absolute shambles really.

The club seem embarrassed, they stopped tweeting tonight after the powerplay, and seemed more interested in social media posts about England, than the game on day 3 vs Worcester.

The club is going backwards rapidly and it's incredibly concerning.

With a bit luck Franklin will either be sacked or he's pisses off to the 100, so we can look at development opportunities in the 50 over competition and give that a go, I enjoyed that last year as we all did and it was encouraging to see the likes of Doneathy involved for example.

It was a good crowd tonight, I don't see them hurrying back anytime soon.

Anyone for Diana Ross tickets?
