CC :: Durham v Worcestershire

So you think county cricket has a future with pitches like this at Durham?
If England keep winning and there is enough countries want to play test cricket then there will be a form iof domestic first class cricket in thi country.
Sadly mate it is no longer there to give cheap entertainment to a handful of county members like me and you. T20 killed the importance of the county member. I would even go as far to say that during the covid times where the grounds where closed quite a few counties saved money not having to have staff employed on match day.
I think more than ever the championship is purely to provide cricketers for England.

Yup. I might have to become a T20 fan :lol: though how much longer that has I'm not so sure

I gave up hope when the 16.4 was created and rallying around to save country cricket out of all the players, media, clubs, counties and everyone involved in cricket .... George dobrell was the only voice in opposition

It's not just in England have a look at Australia's domestic fixtures last winter. They basically didn't play any first class cricket in December and January while the bug bash was on and if you where not in the Aussie set up for the ashes or got a big bash contract you where off playing weekend club cricket.

Didn't the Colonel take off the pads and get a wicket at the end stages of his playing days 🤔

With a flipper down Hove. Title has been wrapped up and iirc the game was going nowhere. Unfortunately I'd has to leave early to see Fleetwood Mac at the O2 in that there London
