CC :: Durham v Worcestershire

I was sat right behind them when this happened. All coaches talked & Franky for the longest and the clip just happens to have been filmed with Walker was speaking. I’m not fully convinced by Franklin either but jeeez talk about pushing an agenda based on a 13 second video
First day I've missed so it's not an agenda based on a 13 second video or like most YouTube footage.
OH hold on a minute mind Jep!! Don’t ruin WHED’s agenda with facts FFS :rolleyes:
Not just my "agenda".

I agree with some of your view about the pitch at the Riverside but as far as killing county cricket there is lots of matches around the country going to the 4th day with a positive result possible and the other team fighting for a draw.

No, the agenda isn’t based on that 13 second video, nor did Jep accuse you of that. What he rightly pointed out, as did I, was that you used this 13 second agenda to further push the agenda you already have.

Just admit you were wrong and we can move on. You don’t even need to apologise, just admit you were a bit hasty and retract your attack.

I’m sure it isn’t, but you’re the only one pushing it this morning.

So you think county cricket has a future with pitches like this at Durham?

I'm gonna pay devil's advocate here.

A) if Potts was playing we'd be well on our way to winning this

B) this pitch has contributed to a high scoring game that has provided great experience batting to Bushnell (a young English bat) borthwick, coughlin (both previously on England radar as all rounders) as well as experience in captaincy for borthwick and overs of spin on a day four pitch for borthwick and trevaskis (another England qualified spinner)

What's not to like for FTECB?

They'll be delighted, slowing killing county cricket. Attendances down, flat, lifeless wickets, bowlers getting nothing out of it, batting wise I get your point but let's be honest that Coggers/Raine innings on Monday when the wicket died was absolutely farcical stuff with 8 players on the boundary. It didn't make for good competitive cricket in my opinion.

Borthwick batted very well, I stand by my view that the wicket on Sunday was decent, he batted well & got deserved praise likewise the Kiwi.

It's not bowlers getting nothing out of it though, Potts showed this. Wood and stokes would.thstd what the idea is, encourage skills that would stand up to test play... SMB favourite Darren Stevens gets slagged that he can be an opening bowler, ftecb try to change that and get called, you can see the hypocrisy right?

It's also giving spinners a chance to play cricket they'd never have got here

As for attendance let's face it, ftecb funding makes or breaks the cc, not a few extra hundred people in, who spend next to nowt for a full day here. They want test players developing, that's what they'll get

Stokes didn't the other week. Only Potts and Raine have looked any good on the wicket at Durham this year
