CC :: Durham v Worcestershire

Something has gone on there mind. Batsman didn't look happy then when Durham got together Coughlin waved the player away, player walked back then headed off
Bit of finger jabbing and a few words exchanged. Azhar escorted off with a gentle hand by Eckersley. Did someone say something?

Odd situation with Azhar, as soon as the ball hit the stumps he seemed to wait in his crease an extra moment, pointed over towards mid-wicket/square leg whilst looking at the Durham huddle and then walked towards Borthwick. From there Borthwick gestured with his hand as if to try and either calm the situation or apologise. Eck too appeared to try and calm the situation.

Couldn’t hear anything on the stream but I actually thought the celebrations seemed fairly subdued. I was stood watching in the kitchen making a brew and I think I celebrated it more than Raine and the lads :lol:

Cannot grumble at all with what we’ve seen so far, we’ve comprehensively bossed this game for two whole days. We’ve been here before of course though and the key thing from here is being able to finish the job off.

I thought Raine bowled brilliantly in that final spell, generally Durham bowled ok, there were a lot of four balls from all the bowlers but I also think that the outfield is as quick as I can ever remember it being down at CLS and so the run rate throughout this game has chance to be very good. Reminds me a lot of Trent Bridge.

Will be interesting to see how Borthwick uses the spin options tomorrow. I hope he’s bold with Trev and Ravindra, I don’t want to see them being thrown the ball on 65 overs whilst the four seamers have toiled all morning for little reward. The pitch still looks good for batting, but our lads are getting the ball to swing. Certainly more than their bowlers did anyway.

Still confident we can finish the job off, Borthwick needs to keep them guessing and keep rotating his bowlers. Hopefully everyone in the side has learnt enough already this season about how to force that advantage home.

Ha’way Durham!

I didn’t know that! Could turn out to be a very very useful cricketer for us. We’ve lacked a ‘fifth’ seam option for a few years now since (what feels like) Jennings left.
Collie and Harte's military medium might have been after that. Keats was proper fast medium. I don't think he ever bowls for Lancs.

down from 2pm and quite enjoyed what I saw. Still bemused we declared so close to our first class record, I can't believe nobody at the club knew about that. Delighted for the two local lads to get their 100s, well done to both.

I thought we bowled well in the evening session.

Going off for bad light was an absolute farce, they didn't even attempt to use the spinners, then came back on 15 minutes later starting with fast bowlers and the conditions hadn't changed.

On to tomorrow, haway the lads
