I haven’t read this article but I have always said to my mates that yous lot would be a good investment for someone. I’m surprised Ashley hasn’t went for yous tbf. Good price, passionate support, ready made infrastructure etc etc. No brainer IMO. Not unless it’s the debt thing that’s putting people off. I don’t know enough about that side of it though.

I haven’t read this article but I have always said to my mates that yous lot would be a good investment for someone. I’m surprised Ashley hasn’t went for yous tbf. There isn't any external debt, and minimal (£8m) shareholder loans, which are scheduled to be turned into shares. Now jog on.

Nobody was a bigger fan of Caulkin than me and he was also very very generous to me personally in donations and sponsorship towards cancer charities and I’ll be forever grateful for that.

But, I found his total and non-critical support of the regime that bought Newcastle absolutely baffling.

By all means be chuffed at a takeover but, as a journalist who supports a team, you can be chuffed but objective. There was no objectivity.
