Durham’s T20 Campaign

Let’s be honest, we’re going to be complaining about tomorrows performance too given how well last night’s score went against Yorkshire. It’s going to be another washout I reckon. Hope the crowd picks up, team could use some support seeing as it’s not coming from within

totally fine with losing, just not in the manner we are at present and continuing to select the same dross every game. mix it up........ oh and don't bowl 18 wides

lancashire are 4/7 to beat us........... cracking bet that

Interesting to note Bushnell didn't play in that 44 all out game, I'm at a loss as to what benefit it is to him basically carrying the drinks with the odd quick sub appearance during this 1st XI T20 campaign so far.... how does that develop a young lad? He top scored with 40 odd last week vs Derbyshire. It is worth noting as well in the other game vs Lancashire last week, Doneathy and Mackintosh both scored well. (31 & 40), with Doneathy taking 2 wickets also.

See how it goes I guess

I dont agree on everything you have posted in this thread, for me there is chalk and cheese with the ability of the players on the teams on show last night (recruitment deserves criticism) but I like to think I have been consistent all year in calling for some of these young lads to be playing in the T20 this season, and the 50 over stuff.

If we dont have the ability to challenge, we should at least be trying to develop a couple of our own......our season can almost be seen as a success (tin hat on) as we have produced a player in matty potts who looks like he could at least play 20+ tests for England

Surely we need to try develop a batsman or something in this tournament, I dont believe they could have done worse.

The T20 looks haphazard, but I will defend them slightly as Beds is out of form, Dickson is injured, Lees is with England.

They are just trying to go with a lineup that bats all the way to number 11 and it does, but there wasnt one player who would have got in the Birmingham batting lineup apart from Beds

We will get absolutely hammered

I am going and I just want Lancs to win the toss and bat as I wanna see David and Livingstone play well

I am not that fussed about t20 results myself, I just found the last 2 games really really boring as we batted first and clearly got a score that was nowhere near good enough

Totally agree about your view on the younger players. Recruitment has been shite, again I do wonder why we signed Robinson for example. Dickson I hope he's back soon, again nothing from the club about it.

I'm setting my sights on the 50 over cup now, enjoyed it last season.

Just hope to see improvements soon as it was a hard watch last night. Ironically I was looking forward to watching Stirling bat :lol:

And despite the batting order not being confused apparently, Ned is up from batting 9 to batting 5. They really don’t have a clue what they’re doing and are just making it up as they go along

It's not just the batting like. We've picked the wrong bowlers in this format since as long as I can remember. Never seen to learn that slower bowlers generally get less tap then quicks.
Champion here’s a bowler coming in at 5 in the 5th over

Actually it’s Eckersely I thought Coughlin was coming in

Coughlin is a better bat than he is bowler in this format imo

Wees that daft lad having a go at you? Still doing it. Im feeling left out without nee body having a go

I heard a rumour of a player coming in for Sunday...... Announce Muchall
If Dickson is not fit they need an opener and a no3 and Stokes n/a at no6.
Crawshaw I guess is the next opener and then possibly move Borthwick and Bedingham up one slot in the order and bat another youngster at no5.
Unless they bring in a batsmen on loan. I think I would prefer at least one of the youngsters to get a chance. To be honest since they scrapped the academy playing in the NEPL I get to see very little of them play especially as we play very little 2nd XI cricket in the area. Not sure how good they are.

Prepare to be disappointed
