Derby County deal expected to collapse

I’ve said for a while, they could be the first big club to go. Hopefully they will get sorted but it’s not looking good

A few years down the line you lot are going to look at this last 10 years and realise how close you were to the abyss, i mean that as a footy fan and not to have a go. Crazy transfers & wages, plummeting down through the leagues, managers coming and going. A couple more seasons in the first division and i reckon you'd have been fucked. If there is such a thing as a football community they will be pleased and relieved you're on the level again. I cant see why anyone would want to see another club go bust

Going to be a class act mate, gone under the radar a bit the last season but he's a young lad learning his trade by grafting, getting his head down and taking it all in. will play 300+ games in the prem if he stays fit and he's the one player i'd be gutted if he left

I'd be disappointed if he was playing league one next season from and Irish fans perspective . He's too good for that .

Cashin is some player as well, not sure if he's tall/big enough to be a classic centre half, not the fastest either but got a huge heart. Only broke through second half of the season but massive fans favourite already

Best wishes Marra. I think we came very close to a similar scenario but hopefully served our time in purgatory and now on a steady move upwards.
Horrible to see clubs like Derby in this situation.

Cheers mate, think you'll need to up your game drastically to be in with a shout of going up i reckon but it's doable, maybe a season of consolidation and taking stock, enjoy some away days with decent allocations again. Finish above Boro and you'll be in the playoffs i reckon watch out for that Gibson fella though :)

There are so many supposedly big clubs who've come so close because of bad owners and a commitment to "fly too close to the sun". I hope you get through the summer and the forthcoming season. In an ideal world. Derby, Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich should be three sides getting promoted next season. (TBH, in an ideal world, none of you should be in the third flight of English football.)

The thing is though clubs and especially fans dont learn, a couple of days ago when it looked like we'd been taken over the fans were straight in on about us buying players that were way way beyond our means like we were cleared to go again. People on here will be wondering why you arent breaking the bank to mount a push to the premier league. It's a crazy sport and does crazy things to peoples heads :eek: .

Everyone wants everything and they want it now! I know it's not the aim for many of our supporters but a comfotable 60-65 point finish next season would be fine for us as long as we push on afterwards.

For you, success could be anything between survival and promotion. I hope you keep Rooney, he's turned out to be a surprisingly good manager.

Plenty of fan bases have took the piss at our expense the last 5 or so years. We’ve had all the crying on Netflix and premier league and you fucked it up shit thrown at us. I don’t think there’s such a thing as the football community these days.

The Netflix thing did you more good than you think, all the stuff I've heard about it has been positive, there was a funny side to it as well but that's the way it was set up. I don't think it did you any harm as a club at all, if anything it rooted out all the dickheads

Made his debut for the under 21s this week . Ye have brought through a lot of young lads Lately just a shame ye already lost a few and will probably lose a few more now .

The financial structure of professional football is all wrong. We’ve had huge sums pumped into it by Sky but the majority is hoovered up by the top few clubs, the rest pray they can stay in the premier league. Everyone else survives on scraps but the inflationary effect on player salaries of Sky and latterly the likes of City creates a massive imbalance that isn’t good for the game.

The genie is out of the bottle now but we should have had a salary cap and rules to keep clubs more or less sustainable a long time ago. The clubs and the premier league won’t do it so imho we need legislation.
