Full toss, the umps nearly always give them. The lad had played brilliantly again. He has to be is the England reckoning this summer

Working his way back from a concussion problem from a pre season match I believe. Always quite reliable but not good enough for international cricket. The sort of player you need as a county club.
I like him. Plays well v Durham in t20 usually but I agree not quite top tier.
Agree but Athers reckons Bairstow will take the No 5 spot fresh from IPL having not played any red ball cricket for 2 month. Presumably Athers is itk.

Picking bairstow is not baffling like
No other test side in the world would drop someone with 2 100s in their last 4 tests

Bairstow has to play like he’s bang in form and scoring test runs
As I say above if you want to pick Brook, I’d like him in the side too btw, then there are others to drop
