Donald & methven will cash in there shares this season because there can not fund sunderland in the championship. there have said this is the past. So the roumers could be true.

Spot on imo, they won’t / can’t invest enough so will want out. The only question is when and who to

Back in my day that wasn't really the case. It's only the last 20 years or so that it's dawned on Eton that they needed to sharpen up. It used to be the case that most of them went straight to Sandhurst, or else the Royal Agricultural College, or straight into whichever City firm Daddy was a partner in. The ones who get in now are no brighter than state school kids applying, but they know how to work the applications system, and how to control the interview process. On the former, to be fair, Newcastle RGS did this 50 years ago - "English? Worcester College, Oxford" "Geography? St Catherine's, Cambridge", etc. Colleges where previous pupils gave you a track record.
This is why private schools should be banned or made to pay an obscene tax which is then used to help kids in state schools

Correct. Methven couldn't even afford it in League One and Donald was putting Methvens share in last season, was only matter of time before they had to sell.

When I was there the RGS wasn't private. It was something called a direct grant grammar school. Basically, it charged fees, but what the parent paid was means tested, with the government making up the difference. So admission was based on an entrance exam and interview only. They were abolished in 1974 by the incoming Labour government, which gave the choice of the schools entering the state system (and becoming comprehensive, unless they were in an area retaining grammar schools) or going private. Nearly all went private.

I think during most of my time there, my parents only had to fork out for lunches and uniforms.

Well a Sky journalist has tweeted about it; it’s mad how people choose to believe these rumours time and time again, someone will be right one day as throw 1000 darts and one will hit
Yeah and that’s why I’m sceptical because it all goes back to the same source
Yeah but I'm also guessing this said source has been correct before . Or you wouldn't of posted it

Doesn't mean the rumours about Currie are true. Doesn't mean the rumours they are willing to sell are true. Methven and Donald are two shit stains that have proven pretty hard to shift so far. What's to stop them being just as beligerent this time? I frankly don't trust the two as far as I can throw them.

Fair enough but my original point still stands

Because they can’t afford to invest in this league imo

I was sent to a private school. Some of the lads were thick as, it’s just their parents had money. Not saying I wasn’t dim either, I was. Having cash isn’t an indication of intelligence!!
The cleverest lad I ever knew went to the local comp I spent my last two years at. Ended up as a forensic scientist in the Cayman Islands for a while. Back living in the house he grew up in back in Belmont now. No idea what he’s doing but I suspect it’s something clever.

Mate of mine's wife works for him. Apparently he's awful to work for
Why? He can’t be that bad a bloke as he is still in contact with many of his old school mates and flies them and their spouses onto his yacht in his private jet. Self made billionaire, no silver spoon…

Have no firm knowledge of any interest in SAFC but it would tally in as much he’s from Sunderland and proud of his education and roots in the City. Many of his old school marras are huge SAFC fans too and will have asked the question over the years….

Believe it or not but I actually met John Reece about 5 years ago, around the time we were plummeting under Short. A few of us were jokingly trying to persuade him to buy the club but he just laughed it off. He is from Sunderland but didn't strike me as a big football fan. However, he was at Wembley and the stuff about him flying his old school mates in his private jet etc is true, so maybe those lads have been in his ear.

If I had to bet though I'd say someone found out there is a Sunderland-born billionaire who was at Wembley and has put two and two together and come up with five.
