Who knows if he’ll be as good as them one day, but it’ll be a tragedy if he isn’t batting 5 v NZ next week. Simply has to play. Bairstow or Foakes at 7.

Sussex 7-0 off the first. Luke Wright off the mark with a dtreky 4 down to fine leg. Didn't know much about it
Rizwan (fine player) top edges a pull for 6 off the last ball of the second. 19-0
Wright plays on to Hogan. 23-1 from 2.3. Always a batsman who it's nice to get early, in limited overs
Good bit of fielding to run out Philippe. Throw from deep fine leg. Little casual from the batsmen perhaps. 29-2
Rizwan batting well. Settling things down after a shaky start. Bopara just out though with a poor shot. 71-3 off 9
