Lets go back a couple of weeks when the skunks reached the dizzy heights of 9th or 10th and they suddenly were world beaters and would have been happy to have a statue of Eddie or maybe even a cloud appear. Now they are slipping further away from where cabbage head had them last season and the narrative has suddenly changed to survival was what we were after, nothing more.

Mike Ashley saved us from bancruptcy. This is the biggest fallacy of the Ashley era that he started spinning when it started going pear shaped for him, to try and make him seem like some sort of saviour. This was never ever going to happen. Yes we were in debt, but name me a football club who splashes the cash that isn’t. It’s manageable debt.

He saved you from administration, the club accounts show that as fact, hence the interest free loan that replaced the Barclays borrowings that John Hall and his cohorts left you with.

Chelsea had debts of almost £100m and were days away from administration when Abramovich took over. Newcastle were in a similar position, debts were slightly lower, but Shepherd had heavily mortgaged everything he could in order to buy the title and failed. Newcastle were in serious trouble and were lucky Ashley never carried out due diligence and subsequently provided the interest free loans which saved the club.

He took the debts on personally instead of having to pay interest year on year on those debts. If he never took over, the club would have still been paying monthly payments to the bank. Just like any other business. It was never going bust. Not in a million years. I remember when it all started coming out as it was Derek Llambias who was spinning it to the local press. Another sheister.
Slightly off topic, but do you know that it was a firm from Sunderland who were brought in to move Shearer’s statue this week. Don’t want to here any more nonsense about the PIF not investing in the region anymore.

NUFC couldn't afford to service and repay the debt. Loaned up to the maximum on future revenue.

Biig Mike saved your club from administration (unless someone else stepped in)

You need to do some more factual research on you own club before coming in here giving it billy big bollocks.
