Seriously ill in hospital.

Fingers crossed he’s on the mend soon. Brilliant batsman.
 

Very fond memories of him. didn't he alse suffer some mental health issue down the line? We didn't have many lefties in those days. Him and Robin smith..great pairing. Smith was a beast!
 
He was an amazing player mostly in times of team turmoil. In a better side he could’ve been frighteningly good. My favourite as a child leading into my late teens.

This. In an era of poor English batsmen facing world class bowlers he was superb. He’d have averaged 55+ in todays game imo.

Yes I was gutted when he was dropped for pietersen in 05 tho it was the right decision in the end, I can’t find any updates on his health for 2 weeks, no news Is good news they say, hopefully true
