Really? Lived there until 2013 and think it was mainly Man Utd when I lived there
Some blinkered views on here mind Newcastle city centre has reinvented itself and is decent now whereas Sunderland has the dubious honour of now being left behind by a previously much worse place in Middlesbrough. Sunderland needs to learn to embrace change and has made its first big step by opening a medical school
Newcastle City centre has reinvented itself due to more funding going into Newcastle hasn't it? I'm not sure it's purely a, 'we can't be arsed to improve'.

I haven’t got any issues with shopping or visiting a place with interesting shops and bars etc. Sunderland has massive potential for development . The place has been trashed for decades with appalling architecture from the 60’s and 70’s. It’s good to see the plans for the riverside etc. The Metro needs to to be extended into Durham as this would improve links regionally and nationally.
Easier transport links to Durham would be massive.

Shite that like, sorry. Like saying people who support Barcelona can’t eat and enjoy local businesses in Madrid

Weird as fuck suggesting Sunderland fans can’t enjoy life in Newcastle. Don’t get it and makes us appear as desperate as those ***** imo
Yeah honestly don’t agree ma
To be fair there'll be loads from Barcelona and Catalonia that do refuse to spend money in Madrid.

Not wanting to annoy any other Lads fan.. but there is an element of perspective here and of personal experiences. I enjoy visiting lots and lots of cities around the country. Leeds for example, regularly. And a football "rivalry" with Leeds wouldn't prevent this.. But what I, and others have experienced from "mags" is different. Leeds fans dislike Sunderland, but Leeds fans for example do not think they are genetically superior, or that we are scum of the earth.. That's the difference. Whether it is Durham mags scoring points or scratters in Newcastle, this is a popular view. Hence I fully understand Lads not wanting to visit or spend money there. One thing we do need to do, is stick together. Its the only way! FTM

Newcastle are in the process of building these now. Sad to see.

£250 to Sunderland and £40 damages..... I mean it was totally impulsive..... To travel to the stadium of light from ferryhill.... In a Newcastle shirt... Record yourself...... And piss on a statue of a man who played for Newcastle.
If she had said compulsive I'd have believed my first ever defence summary from a guilty case.

you 2 need to get a room together

I dont hate the city, just the moronic bastards who live there
I’d imagine the ‘room’ would be filled with intellectual and open-minded chat and banter.......rather than small-minded hate speak......so yes a room sounds OK to me 👍

I don’t think you quite understand the irony of your second comment above do you? 😄

I think you need to check the word ironic, did you book the room?

Leeds fans don't give a shite either way about Sunderland.

very true on the most part.. there are a few older ones who remember 1973 and the aftermath who still have a dislike for Sunderland AFC, but the point is, no opinion on the people.....
