Not sure what's up with Brandon he normally would have started the thread by now but here goes.
Disappointing result and even worse performance against Notts so hopefully we can find a bit of form against a struggling Sussex. It appears that their members are not happy with the running of their county either.
I suppose the Durham XI will depend on the availability of injured players Lees Coughlin and Trevaskis and possibly when Stokes is scheduled to have a game although I doubt he will play in this one.
If Lees is fit it will be interesting to see how they accomadate him in the team and who misses out.
Feels like a big game for Durham and their hopes of promotion.

pretty sure he's banned

I think they will try and shore up the batting and fill the spinners role with badger.

lees, dickson, jones, petersen, bedingham, borthwick, eckersley, raine, coughlin/salisbury, potts, rushworth

I reckon last time the only error was keeping Gibson, there's no obvious reason I can see for not replacing him.

The bowlers didn't have the penetration on that pitch as we've said. Notts bowlers did. But there isn't any case for not having Rushy/Raine and Potts in the side. But Trevaskis should not allow himself to get concussed this time (if he's allowed back, I'm not sure on the length of time he's out) and failing that bring in another seamer. Hope Carse is available and more importantlyready to bowl.

With the batsmen I'd bring back Lees (of course) and drop on of Dickson/Jones even though it would be undeserved.

It doesn't look as if promotion is going to happen for any team. 3 divisions of 6 appears nailed on for next season so top 2 in this division join new 2nd division and remaining 6 form new division 3.
 
Lees for Jones, (who has that big score in the second innings v Leics who were missing their two opening bowlers and 4 failures).

Salisbury/Coggers for Gibson or both if Trev can't play. Carse being available would change all that, but I doubt he will be.

Can't see how you can play Drissell unless in an emergency, he's clearly not good enough.

No. Who knows what might happen in the few years, but as of now he looks miles away from a CC standard player. If Trev doesn't make it I would rather they go with an extra seamer rather than a spinner who isn't up to it, just for the sake of it.

Worth noting trevaskis only has 16 wickets in 14 games averaging 45 would be hard for drissel to do worse than that

It's rare spinner that gets a hatful of wickets in 1st class cricket. The value of a spinner is mainly for the captain to have another option when seam and swing isn't providing results. I reckon Trev is a good spinner and worth persevering with.

I didn't mean to sound like I was having a go at Trev it was more people having a go at drissel after one game for Durham
