With Ponting, Jawardene and Gibson seemingly out of the running, who would peoples preferred choice be for the roles?

Test: Kirsten
ODI: Nixon (Very Impressive credentials)

In my opinion

Discuss.

Test: Kirsten by a long, long way. Best candidate by far

ODI: I'm happy with Colly. Knows the system, knows the players, highly rated coach

Cricinfo saying Ford in the running.
Got a good rep tbf

Katich one of favourite too

A lot of the ones I want don’t even want it

What makes Kirsten stand out is he really does want to manage the test team specifically

I got the impression listening to key on the pods he wasn’t covinced by him in terms of he thought the success there was led by captains

I think people are being a bit dismissive of the white ball coach mind; it’s important. I’ve felt we just lost our way there w bit last few years

My first choice there would be Trevor Baylis all day long, he’s perfect for it and he has a really good eye for a white ball player in my option

Probs be too soon though

Wanted ponting, happy with kirsten, wouldnt mind Ford tbf
Farbrace would have been great for the 1day stuff

 is that you agreeing word for word with me?

Forgot about Farbrace, be happy with him

Cant help feel Ford's time has passed
Fords a great coach. KP swears by him (and given his opinion on coaches he must be doing something right).
Key knows him well.
Think Ford is more a players coach rather than a head coach if that makes sense and this England batting unit probably needs that right now

The process will take a few weeks, when's the first test, June?
ODI/T20 Morgan is in control there, so they don't really need a Head Coach. But i reckon Collingwood would get it as the players like and want him
