Supped in there for 30 odd years on match days. Plenty of mackem lads down Concord, talked to a couple yesterday, gutted that they don’t have our owners.

TBH I never heard that, also we were close to a takeover from DIC based in Dubai before they went into financial trouble so I doubt the Saudi objection was true. We just wanted rid of Hicks and Gillet.

Yeah I remember it that the protests were about Hicks and Gillet as opposed to them coming in. I’m sure I read about protests at Melwood when they were showing the Saudis around.
