Underrated players

Here's another one for you, Michael Laudrup, one of the greatest off all time? Very rarely makes people's top 20

I think the fact he missed out on Euro92 due to a dispute with the coach probably counts against him. Tremendous player though. You didn't follow a career path of Juve, Barcelona, Madrid without being exceptional.

This is true Arkle, fantastic player and agreed there woth missing out on the euros and the team doing it without him

Laudrup was a class act but always preferred Prosinecki from that era.

Prosinecki was great as well TBH. ALso, from the same Croatia set up, Boban.
Yugoslavia had some fantastic players in the late 80’s, early 90’s; Mijatovic, Mihajlovic, Pancev, Boban, Stojkovic, but Prosinecki and Savicevic were on another level for me. Technically fantastic footballers, Prosinecki barely gave the football away.
Another top player

Thought he was superb at Liverpool, they literally built there team around,played5 in midfield so head the free role.
My abiding memory of McManaman at Liverpool was someone who was often stuck out wide but didn’t have the pace or strength to influence the game from the wing, they didn’t know how to use him effectively. Liverpool were massive underachievers in the 90s, they didn’t fulfill their potential and McManaman embodied this.

He was on the right a fair bit, but he played a free role a few times behind fowler, was a better player through the middle for me. Had a fantastic first touch too. Saved Liverpool on many occasions.
Pretty sure he was man of the match in 92 against us.

Neil Maupay
Oriol Romeu
Jarrod Bowen
Daniel Podence and Max Kilman

Hard to say he’s truly underrated but doesn’t get the attention he deserves, Joao Cancelo. Absolutely outrageous footballer.
