CC :: Glamorgan v Durham

Been a good watch on the stream. Hopefully lees taking the confidence of now being an England cricketer into his county form.

Looking forward to getting down to the riverside.

So 348/3 with 5 overs left for bonus points.

Personally I'd have hoped to get to 350 tonight and declare, but whatever. I'd get to 350 in the morning, declare (preventing them from any slim chance of picking us off and getting another bowling point). Get 90 overs at them and go for the win. No value batting on after 350 tomorrow

Exactly. Almost impossible for us to lose so no point in caution. Is the 5th batting point 400, ie impossible?

We're well on top here. Shame about the weather in the first two days as it looks like we could have given them a right stuffing with more time available. A win of any kind for us will do though.

We look a good team
I know we have batted well today but Bedingham stroke play is a class above.

Can’t claim to be an expert in the CC but he looks a class above most I have seen
Was just thinking that when he got his 150 there.

Won’t he just miss most the 50 over stuff

Important score for him. All the openers didn’t get runs

Totally agree with you but by the way they played those last 2 overs it looks like even if they had got the 350 and bonus point they weren't declaring overnight.
Personally would prefer as many overs as possible at them even if we have to chase 60/70 off 10 overs or so to win the game

Can't see the argument for declaring overnight as it's unrealistic to bowl them out for under 114 -nor does Killeen.
"We'll look to be positive, put on as many runs as we can in the morning and we'll back our bowlers to have a good crack at Glamorgan."
Interesting that Killeen took the end of day presser,presumably shielding Franklin from fielding irrelevant questions.

It's the only real option. You want to be bowling to win at the end rather than batting as you a) have to option to bring slow bowlers on in fading light to extend as long as possible, and b) take away the opportunity for time wasting shithousery.

What about the one he didn't play a shot too?

The Welsh lads on commentary got a bit excited about that, but it’s pretty clear from the replays that it was comfortably missing off.
commentator - "bedingham hasn't looked overly convincing"

next ball

6 :lol::lol:

Narked me that, he already had 50 at a strike rate of about 80 FFS.

Must’ve been watching a different game to the one on the stream 🤷‍♂️

This.

No point declaring with a lead of only 114. One good session from Glamorgan with these small boundaries and they’ll have a lead, effectively killing off any chance of us winning.

Best bet is to smash it around for an hour tomorrow, get the lead up over 180 and then declare. Gives us a nice little spell before lunch or about 12 overs, then Glamorgan would know they’d have to pretty much bat the rest of the game before gaining parity.

We dismissed them inside 73 overs first time round, if there’s about 80 overs left when we declare, it’ll be added pressure on them psychologically knowing that they’ll have to last longer than that just to get a draw.

How many overs possible today given overs lost from the other day?
Commentators said last night that it will be 96 today.

Totally agree.
Next man in Eckersley is usually very good in this situation.
