It is very strange. Its like people who dress their whole family in the latest shirts when they go abroad. They think it makes them interesting... when the opposite is true.

If the Saudis don't live up to the hype... it's going to destroy them

I live in Gosforth and hear the barbed comments about Sunderland all the time. Some is good natured poor relation teasing but much is actually discrimination.
I can only assume they can't handle losing football matches to Sunderland AFC and we all know we don't have the most attractive city centre.

I can only imagine what it's like. I actually thought they'd ease off a bit, happy in the knowledge that they're in the higher league etc but if anything it's made the superiority complex worse. There's no reasoning with them... Newcastle is great and Sunderland is shit as far as they're concerned, whereas personally I like both cities and have friends in both cities too

To be fair to them, a fair few will only ever have been to sunderland to see their team being howked all over.

Likewise. My Daughter lives in Newcastle as well. Its a good city

Dont get it, is this taking the piss out of the fact we won the Pizza cup or the fact we have Elton John playing at the SOL shortly (1 of the biggest selling artists ever) as opposed to professional mag Fender who will disappear in a couple of years, Zany Mag humour eh 😁
