Bardo or Chimbo

Depends which Bardo turned up. The one that was trying to prove a point because he'd been dropped/replaced/we were playing Man U/Man City/Liverpool, or the complacent Bardo that would daydream about a Tuesday sesh in The Mill.

Quality wise, Chimbonda was the best right back we had in those ten Premier League seasons.
Knars ^

Bardsley was a solid full back for us, not much more but his reputation now is built on the fact we’ve had absolute garbage full backs since.

I long for the days of Danny Collins and Phil Bardsley at full back 🤦‍♂️

Chimbonda who used to wear gloves in August to protect his painted fingernails?
We played against chimbonda and olivier Bernard a few weeks ago,
Chimbonda looked like a marathon runner and didn't have shinpads on so knew he wouldn't tackle and was shite,
Bernard was better but like a tank

the strangest thing was people turning on him after the casino thing

it was all utter bollocks

the players were granted permission for a night out after Wigan were relegated, so we stayed up, they got pissed, who cares.

Nothing wrong with expecting a bit of professionalism from the players. If I was a Premier league footballer you wouldn't catch me drinking at all, never mind getting pissed.

Throughout our last stint in the prem the players professionalism was always brought under question. Not surprising really considering we only ever turned up against Newcastle and the last 6/7 games of the season.

That being said, I'll certainly have a different attitude if we ever get back to them 'heights' again. I used to slate some players, they're like Ronaldo compared to what we have now. Be grateful for what you have etc.

Absolute utter nonsense

You must hate Quinn then

Do you have any idea how much he used to drink?

You’re the exact type of fan I was trying to highlight

You just don’t get it

The most unprofessional players we had like ndong n co didn’t even drink
Bardsley but he's over rated by some, he was a mediocre RB and the problem, as always, was that we never replaced or improved on him.

Incorrect

He’s still in the prem now

And? That doesn't stop him being a mediocre PL player does it? He also hasn't played a game this season.

I don't think it's nonsense at all tbh.

I can see both sides.

It's not the 90's anymore. Clubs do anything they can these days to eek out that extra 1/2% performance from players. We have sports scientists, nutritionists, sports psychologists etc.

All seems a bit of a waste if players are going out getting spangled half a dozen times a season.

Nah I don't buy it. These are professional athletes getting paid millions per year competing in the top league in world football.

Opinions are like arseholes etc.

I don't think it's wrong to expect them to look after themselves.

You obviously don't mind them going out getting pissed, that's fine.

Spot on. Plus it can be argued if they improved their eating/drinking habits then they could be even better.

People have said for a while players were taking the piss up here and there was a drinking culture, we constantly underachieved imo. It's funny how we regularly turned things around in an effort to survive.
