sigh, i was using maja to justiofy the hypothesis. The hypothesis isnt just about this seaosn, its about all seasons. If you want a specific example of a premier league academy player at safc who has failed this season..thats different as its not about the hypothesis.,.

Signing inexperienced kids from premier league academies who are too cocky and arrogant and when pressed for an example you went for 25 year old Patrick Roberts who has almost 200 senior appearances to his name. Have a day off man.

I suspect he has been offered lucrative employment elsewhere and will start soon enough. He seems to be holding details back, probably at the request of a potential new employer. I think he will be a BBC pundit very soon. I think he will be very good at it too.
He's agreed to go to Spurs. He'll be doing his badges there and be employed as a coach.

I think you've managed to get the wrong end of the stick of everything I've said.

The question to ask Defoe, is about why and how he suddenly retired 2 months into a contract, with 2 months of a season left. Not whether or not he intends to take up tiddlywinks after football.

Immediate retirement through a hamstring injury, that nobody is allowed to talk about. Well that seems reasonable and perfectly normal 😄. I'm not even saying that there's much more to it than that, but that's just ridiculous

If you were that interested in what he had to say why didn't you attend the gig. Or were were you waiting for the DVD release with director's commentary provided by that renowned personality Nick Barnes.
why would kld go to monaco?
the sums may seem small, and if kld were actually a billionaire, which he isnt, they might be, but he views football as a business, and not paying stupid money for things is a good rule in business.#
ellis short probably thought chucking another 10m at it here or there was small money, until it adds up.

To see the Grand Prix.
your point is an excellent one. The reality is, the biggest challenge SAFC face in this league is, most of the players that would play in legaue one, will never have faced the expectation level, or even a 30k crowd before, and we cannot really know how they will react until they sign. The expectation level is not unreasonable, and the fans in the grounds response is generally not unreasonable.

There are two ways to look at how to address the issue, one is to sign players who have been promoted from this league before, as they will have dealt with the pressure of being at that end of the table, and of being favourites to win every week. That approach was tried first by Doanld etc..Will Grigg seemed the obvious choice, he had played some international football and been part of a hype cycle, while also been promoted. But his abject failure here shows there are no garauntees.

The second approach is to sign kids from PL academies, on the basis they will be cocky and confident and if coming from the right academies, will have won most games they play. The weaknesses of this approach have been evident this season.

The relaity is, its not an insurmountable conundreum, it can be solved, but its not easier to solve by simp,y "spending some f***ing money"

That was beyond deisbelief though. Watching Stewart Donald pretending to know about football.

I’m guessing you have never played football beyond primary school level. If Defoe thinks he has lost his sharpness, listen to the guy!
He may have lost his sharpness, but to the extent that he's now a worse option than Kimpioka ? A lad that his little to no future in English (Pro) football ?

Which of the players we've signed from Premier League academies do you think are cocky and arrogant? Because they all look quite the opposite to me.

To be fair he said cocky and confident and I would suggest that the ones we have signed like Doyle and Cirkin certainly were that in the way they play the game and wouldn't be swayed into playing different ways regardless of the situation on the pitch. It doesn't mean they have to swan around the pitch like young Chris Maguire's.

You could add Hoff and Dejaku into that too. The problem with youthful confidence is how quickly it can shred and poor decisions made because of a lack of experience to it when shit huts the fan in mens football, hence why maybe they don't seem that way now.

Don’t be so bloody naive.

Something has gone on and as usual the supporters are kept in the dark and have to like it or lump it.

Just what’s going on at SAFC these days? It’s like a secret society.
Something has gone on? We signed an old man who could only get 9 minutes in a league which is outside of two sides probably worse than league one. Bad signing but hardly a secret society.
