Members lounge at Durham

same old faces use it, they get their early to bag the balcony seats as well. the few times I've been in the food and drink has been fine. the wife sometimes goes in if she's cold, and enjoys it enough. facilities/service have improved.

It’s going to be improved/refurbished as part of the stadium redevelopment (apparently)

From what I’ve heard the future looks bright off the field aswell as on it

Plan to refurbish the ticket office, shop and members area.

There was mention at the members meeting of a video showing the ground redevelopment which was shown at the presentation night, and there was to a meeting with the bods from the council and the MP shortly after that. All seems to have gone quiet since then.

Does anyone on here know any more than that? I’m about as non-ITK about DCCC as it’s possible to be 😁
Had a membership a few years ago but couldn’t get to many games due to work etc. So just wondering what the members lounge is like. Decent pint? Bait any good?

As others have said, the facilities are ok. Beer and scran are more than acceptable and you get members’ discount. Staff are all friendly and v helpful.

When I can’t get there for the day, I quite like nicking off early from work to watch the final session of the CC games.

I think for what you pay, even if you can’t make every game, it’s cracking value. Will be made even better when we storm CC Div 2 this year 😁

Cracking value. I'm going to struggle with the second half of the County championship as its all midweek but can do at least one day of all 1st half and then all the blast games. I'm satisfied with the amount of cricket I'll see for £200

Anyone know when they're sending membership cards out?

always thought the wicket is laid the wrong way and members balcony should should look down it.

other than that it's fine
I believe it is so there is a view to lumley castle. Ridiculous really as you can’t even see the castle due to the growth of the trees now and if you’re a member you go to watch the cricket on show not to look at a castle.

Needs to be like. No offence to the members but you need a place that younger people might wanna go too. It reminds me a bit of a premier inn conference room currently

As mentioned above, rarely use it but don't have an issue with it really. The recent refurb was done to a high standard. Yes I have a little moan as do most about the heckling old time members but some in their are genuinely lovely approachable people who are very knowledgeable about the game, some of whom we have both got to know well at the cricket.

Overall I think the ground is in decent enough condition and I'd imagine the current refurb work going on will improve things more. Given what we pay for memberships, I think we get value for money above and beyond.

It is what it is, convenient as and when I need to use it.
