Forthcoming gigs.

We're going to see Biffy Clyro in Edinburgh in June and will probably go to the Kubix Festival in July. Other than that it will just be ad hoc pub gigs as and when.

This was nigh on 20 years ago. They might have had a middle aged epiphany, and now decide to go back to their early style.I find a lot of bands do that.Would be great if they did the full 3 feet high album.A lot of bands do that now
They were rubbish.
Its a tour 'celebrating 30 years of de la soul' and the sell out audience was 90% men 45-55 yr old, there for the 3 feet high and rising stuff.
They played potholes and me myself and I.
Didn't play magic number which I found totally bizarre.
The doors were 7-11. We got there at 8 and fuck all happened till 9, when a hip hop act came on my 18 yr old son would have liked. They weren't for me and the majority of the room. Jlyellowl. Irish rap which didn't have any Irish identity, just sounded like generic uk hip hop.
Having a dj playing some old hip hop would have been loads better.
Then de la soul 10-10.50 playimg not much id heard, no daisy age, no jazzy hip hop. And the lights came on and la di da de came over the sound system to give us the best track of the night. (I saw slick Rick about 5 yrs ago supporting run dmc and that was shit as the sound system at Hammersmith apollo was really woeful)
Anyway, it's a band ticked off who I've wanted to see.

I was there also, what did you think?

I thought it was a brilliant little venue tbf. Easy to get served and a decent acoustic.

Thought they could’ve maybe been on a big longer / did a longer encore and would’ve liked to hear what the sound was like if Bruce Watsons son had been playing.

Have to say I have always rated Mark Brzeicki as a drummer and he was superb again, as was Watson.

Thought the singer was decent too, but kept thinking the bass guitarist was Phil Parkinson 😂

Overall I enjoyed it a lot.

Yeah I like the venue, been a good few times now, maybe not so good for the vertically challenged. Bruce is the fulcrum of the whole thing with his banter etc but I thought he struggled at times trying to play 2 roles with his son being absent.Great effort tho, singer was surprisingly good, drums great and the base player looked like he was going to keel over. Can’t go far wrong with a set list like that though.

How the singer managed to do the set wearing a leather jacket and a snood is beyond me !
I was lathered in just a polo shirt
