well like I say come along to watch your U18s on Saturday, happy to sensibly debate with anyone.

I will make it easy to be seen as I stand with same people (Sunderland Fans or players relatives), but I will wear a Newcastle hat......

I guess I did a little lol
Good luck to your grandson. I would say that wherever he was at.

I need to add that football is mental now and I've thought it for a while. Average fans are going to be priced out of going and although I crave for promotion to championship, I dont crave premiership.

I dont watch MOTD or any prem games (and I can due to firestick) not Internationals or Champions league. I just hate the over the top bollox spouted.

I stopped going when we were in prem , partly because I managed a Sunday team and my whole weekend was football, and partly because I cant stand watching footballers on 100k plus A WEEK !

I was an addict in days of Reidy and Smith but those days are gone. I returned when we were relegated to 1st div.....guess I'm the jonah.

My point being is that fans are being priced out and these terrible multi billionaire owners have little love for yours and others clubs , they just need it for sportswashing so championship for me , seems to much to ask at minute though.

67 years actually. That Inter-Cities Fairs malarkey doesn't count as a major honour according to UEFA.

That's because UEFA didn't organise it.

It was set up by FIFA and is recognised as a major trophy by them, the senior organisation.

Still a long time, but 1969 it is.

There's a lot of truth in what you say. A quick way to increase turnover is to raise prices, and who is to say we won't see season tickets hitting a grand at some point. Regardless of who owned us and any success we were having on the pitch on a personal level that would price me out.

Mags waving Ukraine flags featured on look north as well as staveley at football writers event
No mention of war in Yemen sports washing goes on
Not sure why anyone reacts to Martin. He is a moron. For balance the ROF, Royal Ordinance Factory as i have always known it to be called, only recently moved to Washington. Prior to that it spent best part of 70 years in Birtley. Not Wearside. I would also hazard a guess that the workforce then, and now, is not predominantly of the SAFC persuasion. Aside from that another stellar post from Ouston's resident Village idiot.
Mags at Armstrong vickers supplied weapons for both sides of Russian and Japanese war in early 1900s

Adam Johnson..... he sh*gs who he wants........ and your lot sang that, and you want to to take the moral high ground.

Your club were fully aware, Margaret Byrne knew, and yet you carried on letting him play...... and you still want to take the moral high ground.

your moral high ground is built on shifting sands

Fact is, and get used to sucking it up for the foreseeable.......your jealous, stuck in third division with play offs only a possibility while NUFC climb away from relegation and get ready for an assault on the premier league top 6 next season....... nobody will care in a few years time who owns NUFC, it will be tomorrow's fish and chip paper.

I hope our ............. makes it, I hope he becomes a star for you, is it likely......? its certainly possible, next time your U18s (next Saturday v stoke at the academy) play come along for a chat, ask for me, regulars know me and we all get on........happy to debate with anyone on here, but at least be polite and introduce your self.
You lot didn't see to bothered about this

or this

or this

However crack on about Adam Johnson

That is inevitable. I said ages ago Queen Mandy should enjoy the adulation whilst it lasts. Football fans are very hard to please!

Aye. Sadly (if it happens) it'll be the longer term fans who miss out and be replaced by tourists assuming (and its a big if) we indeed get any success. I'm not sure she will be here long term to be honest, and less if she keeps making badly judged and ill advised statements. Riding on the crest of a wave, but as we all know, be it owners managers or players it isn't everlasting.

The club could not be seen to drop him. It would be too obvious and while he was innocent until proven guilty he and his agent could have legally taken the club to court. As soon as he was given a guilty verdict he was immediately sacked and rightfully so. Your current owner was setup to marry an 11 year old girl but as long as you are signing Chris Wood I am sure you will turn a blind eye to that and that’s only one of endless points I could make about them. If they turned the tap off spending you’d all soon bring up all these points make no mistake about that.

Finally coming around to my way of thinking! Mandy is needed now to be the respectable face of the club but the fact that she is using borrowed funds and admitted her title is interim tells you it is short term. PIF will buy her share somewhere down the line and she will make a decent return. If she times it right and exits before any poor/hard decisions she may actually earn lifelong Saint like status. She could even go at the end of this season.

I still think PiF will sell in summer 2026 having put a proper structure in place and put the club on the brink of Europe.

The tourist issue is a huge threat to the mags as then their biggest selling point (atmosphere) will turn to shite. But clubs want tourists as a different person in the ground each week also spends in the shop! The best advice I could give Wraith et. al. now is to push the owners to guarantee a number of tickets each week, at a discounted price, for certain NE postcodes. As a token gesture Liverpool release 10k over the season for 9 quid to people in L postcodes (over 19 games there will be c1m fans at Anfield so this is just 1%).

You mention a j not a mention about George ormond weird ????

I liked coming on here, mainly cos my grandson is on your books, however since the NUFC takeover happened it has become very silly on both sides. Daft comments trying to out do each other, like two bald men fighting for a comb.
Fact is both clubs have been hampered by their fair share of dishonourable non ambitious owners and another plain fact is every one on here would have snapped the hand of the investment NUFC are getting, the only factor is the background to who actually owns NUFC....... and yes KSA background is at the very best suspect and has been barbaric. That said they have to start somewhere and they have a plan in place to improve its image world-wide and if that includes sport then so be it, some say sports washing....... only time will tell if that is true, I believe its called Saudi Vision 2030!
Ok, I am jewish, if anyone should ever forget the events of the holocaust then they should hang their heads in shame, it should be on the curriculum of every school across the globe, so I must hate all Germans? Actually not at all, Germany grew after the WW2, it evolved to a better place with less oppressive leaders.
Can you compare this with KSA? I doubt it as its a different type of regime in place although in the past no less brutal, but if lets say in 30 years time when I am long gone the Saudi Vision 2030 proved to be the start of an evolvement in the improvement then of its image then it should be applauded. problem is we live in the now and not the future....so nobody actually knows.
Yes a bit of a waffle and a bit of rant and no doubt despite my grandson playing for your lot I will be classed a 'gravy stained dribbler' or something like that.....am I laughing at you being in third division, yeah I prob smiled same way you do when its 6 in a row etc.....you know what that is..... banter

Arguing about daft cups, fact is 49 years for you and lot longer for us.......... hotbed of football? championship and third tier trophies dont count, nor do Simod shoe cups or anything else daft like that...league cup, FA cup and first division title (old school)...and no your not having the Papa John thing either.

What I will say is I have only missed 18 home games at NUFC since 1970 and seen my fair share of Westwoods or in your case Cowies (Newcastle fans are better than Sunderland's is what he said - I bet that made him popular) and yet 52 years on I am still waiting for proper silverware........

RTG is possibly the best online fanzine because it allows forums like this, just a pity you cant weedle out the none sensible comments, I am too old to be bothered to argue.

Grow up lads and lasses whichever side of the divide your on.
In between watching your grandson go to Cato.org.uk and see where KSA rank in terms of ”freedom”.

Yes, they are changing. They are using NUFC to change everyone’s perception of them!

It would be easy PR to do that with the tickets like, but money trumps all so only time will tell. Whether PIF are in it for the long haul, again time will tell, but it could be an interesting time whilst they are here. Match is all about meeting mates for a few pints to be honest. I'm glad I a way I'm not 20 any more when it properly impacted my mood and stuff.
But you just wanted your clerb back. Good luck with that .
Very few clubs now "have their own club." And therein lies the problem with modern football really. The minute Abramovich was able to buy Chelsea the die was cast.
