The best hope for Russians imho is for the younger generation to move away from the old expansionist aims of imperial Russia, and to try to build a new national mindset.

It’s a shame that it’s taken so long for this process of change but there is a positive example. Relatively not long ago, Germany had its sights on swathes of Eastern Europe but now they’re pacified.

Maybe one day, Russia won’t want to be Billy big bollocks outside their own borders.

After randomly claiming Ukraine was working on a nuclear weapon (in the leakiest of countries), now Russia 's @mod_russia comes up with something even less plausible: they "found evidence" Ukraine and USA wee developing weaponized plague bacteria at a super secret lab near Kyiv.

They don’t want to get usa involved like, suicide for Russians
 
I want to know what we are not being told.

Putin knows he cant win. Even if he manages to control Ukraine the coming years of sanctions will cripple Russia sending it back to being an almost third world country. He will know this and his advisors will know this.

If this escalates to full nuclear war, Russian ceases to exist as does the West. I can see no situation where Russia “gains“ anything.

So why has he took this drastic action? What has triggered him?

I dont buy he’s mad/lost the plot. This has been developing for years. I dont buy that its to prevent the spread of NATO because even if he takes Ukraine, NATO is over the border. I dont buy this is to return to the old USSR because again sanctions will bankrupt Russia. Something is not right, why has he done this??

He's a chancer and maybe paranoid his time as head of Russia is coming to an end. It'll all be about Putin.
