Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

He could have a point. NATO and the west have made Putin out to be 100% at fault. He’s spent years with Ukraine on the border. So why attack now?
Something provoked him
Gas. Lots of it. Warm water ports, a big one. There was lots of hardware for the discovery/extraction of gas in Ukrainian territorial waters, until last week. Once Russia anex the south coast those gas fields are now theirs and the Crimea fully secured strategically.

Crimea was also drying out. Now they have captured the damn water flows again. Those are just a couple of the 1-200 reasons he believes he has to justify an invasion.

I'm for military action against Russia but I think it's pathetic the way the media takes glee almost in Russian planes being brought down .....someone's husband ,father, son .....

The loss of life on both sides Is no time for rejoice
A pilot is not a conscript, they are not just dragged to the front line they are highly trained to kill, they know the targets they are attacking and damage they are doing I can see why the Ukrainians are different to these than to the young boys they capture.

I hadn't realised that Crimea is basically a sand dune. Got some sort of wierd sandy desert in it.

Crimea was cut off. They were struggling to supply them. So he needed the south part to gain access to “his people”

Seeing more and more
Russian hardware shot down more
Videos showing etc, shows that weapons from the west are working as this is something they had lack of not long ago.
Wonder if it also has something to do with his equipment still being fairly old/outdated once the shock and awe of the first wave had been absorbed? Something a fair few suspected, they are not well equipped to deal with a drawn out war.

I'm guessing mind, not basing it on any facts other than I read about ten year ago Putin would struggle to win a drawn our war if his initial blitz failed.

Not sure Russia are that arsed about the gas. What they are arsed about imo is Ukraine having the worlds 10-12 most supplies and supplying Europe. There is also, apparently, 2 huge underground/shale? Fields. One in the west and one in the east.

Aye it’s guess work for us all at the moment, could be combined something certainly has changed. I know Ukraine now have downed some good Russian pilots I would say high collateral but don’t think any Russian is high collateral to putin.

Looks like on the ground they have documented about 15 different Russian planes and helicopters downed today.

Not sure if the Western anti air stuff has made a difference, the Russians are getting sloppy or they have just had a lucky 24 hours

Russian army not fairing much better…

Wondering why they haven’t tried to creep further east to try and circle Ukraine to be honest seems an untouched part of the country. With two nuclear plants too

It’s probably more along the lines of the media are desperate to report Russian defeats.
