Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

Some of the defence analysts on Twitter are suggesting the battle in Izyum could be quite key.

Because Russia either hold or have blocked territory around most of the cities in the South this is the last city link and bridge into West Ukraine over the Dnieper.

So the soldiers in the East might be either cut off, have to battle back through or take their chance now to cross the Dnieper to get back the right side towards Kiyv. But concede the territory in the process.

The way I see it is this ..(all my opinions)...Vladimir Putin believes Russia are superior to the other countries. By invading Ukraine he has forced himself into a dilemma with only 2 options

Option 1 ) try the diplomatic route with Ukraine without more bloodshed but by doing this it makes him look weak .... And more likely the British /Americans will hit his country in the pocket so much. His country will be a social pariah after the war has ended, and his country plunges into poverty ....in other words Russia changes from the bully to the bullied....Why would Putin possibly want that. He does not want others dictating to him

Option 2) power crazed dictator Putin carries on the offensive and will carry on attacking countries until other countries combine to defeat him but even then he won't wave the white flag

I think option 2 is far more likely than option 1 .....

He is the modern day Hitler that our prime ministers and other leaders were happy to have dinner with at summits

When you have a leader that is frightened of nothing and is incredibly stubborn you have an extremely dangerous man
He's shit scared of covid the little prick.

Economy beginning to bite?

Depends who he thought his audience was. If it was ordinary Russians, this would make sense. Many - most? - seem to be believing the lies of state TV, even above . The narrative to ordinary Russians is 'this is a miltary operation to free Ukraine of Nazis which targets only military bases'. Obviously Putin can't hide from them the fact the economy is collapsing, but he can spin it to make it himself look sane and reasonable and it's all the fault of the wicked West.

As a sidenote, it's interesting to see who Boris "Two Flags" Johnson's prototype was for the flag shagging in his controlled media spins is.

Good to see the Ukrainians still have heavy weapon capabilities of their own. Artillery and shelling here a Russian forward base outside Kiyv

They had tons of artillery at the start of the war. They haven’t really used much partly due to the tactical way they are fighting.

But good to know it’s not been destroyed as could be invaluable for counterattacks or attacking Russian formations when they inevitably have to base

We need to make sure they don't run out.

Astonishing isnt it?

Steady on mind you will get accused of being political.

If the tories had a collective moral between them they would be sending all the dodgy money they have received from Russia to support the relief efforts in Ukraine.
