They just read his statement out on LBC radio and it mentioned any proceeds from the sale of Chelsea are being donated to a charitable trust to help those affected by the ukraine/russia war.

Probably because he knows the cash will be seized as soon as the club is sold

I have instructed my team to set up a charitable foundation where all net proceeds from the sale will be donated. The foundation will be for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine

What profit will there be though? He's spent billions on the club. If he's not paying his loans back, he'll be nowhere near 'profit'.

Just seemed a very loose term to me considering the situation of their debt to him etc.

What he gets for the shares minus what he paid Ken Bates for them. Looking at his holding company, Fordstam Ltd, the shares are valued at £1.26bn.

He probably intends to flee to a remote island somewhere until Putin pops his clogs. It is bold for him to call it a war, especially after the fate other oligarchs have suffered ….

It’s almost an unsaleable business/ company in this current situation imho.

Chelsea isn't really a profitable business is it really either? I'll be surprised if they cut their cloth and still manage to compete like they do
