I have just been to see Van der Graaf Generator. Took a bit of getting used to being in a mass gathering again but it was a good evening. I was sat behind Stewart Lee!

Bloody Covid. On the piss still, just no gig at the end now ffs.Andy Bell at pop recs next week.
We ended up getting last minute tickets. Now there's a band right on top of their game. Cracking night.Went to wolf Alice last night which was brilliant
No, but seen the Rifles there a few times. Good venue, great drink, pain in the arse to get to, especially in the darkDid anyone go to the Self Esteem gig at the Wylam Brewery, on Sunday ?
Had never been to the building before, which looked great with the lighting and swans on the lake.
Think they/she will be playing much larger venues very soon, as the audience went loopy when she (apologies, do not know the singer's name) appeared and many people knew all the words to the songs.
Although the singer had an excellent voice and the dancing was effective, I thought it was a bit too choreographed and a little souless.
Never saw Madonna, but I would imagine this is the type of show she woukd have performed when she started off...

Alkaline Trio last night..bit disappointed..they were barely on stage an hour..didn’t appear till nearly 10 o clock.
I went and thought it and she was brilliant. The harmonies of the three backing singers at times were stunning. I'd love to see her at a festival at around 6pm on a sunny afternoon.Did anyone go to the Self Esteem gig at the Wylam Brewery, on Sunday ?

What’s your issue with Wylam? Mentioned in my post the geography is a twat, but the performance space & drink is great. Sound has been good so far from memoryI went and thought it and she was brilliant. The harmonies of the three backing singers at times were stunning. I thought it was far from soulless and would recommend anyone to go and see her. She made the Wylam (my least favourite venue) a wonderful place to be for an hour.
Stage too low and the view is poor if you don't get near front and aren't tall. I'm fine (not especially tall) but missus will just see people's backs. What’s your issue with Wylam? I think she's class like. They clearly love what they are doing together and it transmits in their performance.I went and thought it and she was brilliant. The harmonies of the three backing singers at times were stunning. I'd love to see her at a festival at around 6pm on a sunny afternoon.

I wasn't sure how her performance was going to be. I thought it could have been very good or very bad. I thought it was glorious.I think she's class like. They clearly love what they are doing together and it transmits in their performance.
