for the last few pages you have gone on and on, hopefully a mod will give you a time out if you dont give it a rest, we understand you dont like Boris, fine but move on so people can use this thread for its main purpose.

No need to reply, as I dont want to clog the thread up with tit for tat.
So you don't think Johnson dragging his feet over everything - announcing sanctions that initially included all of three billionaires, talking a good game but not delivering, smugly defending golden visa russian immigrants by saying we can't prove direct links to Putin, hanging out since 2015 with notorious Russia apologists like Farage and Banks - is relevant strategically to Russian tactical moves on the ground?
Or that instead of saying Putin is a madman, instead of stepping back and realising this all kicked off in 2008 (or even earlier) and became a hot war in 2014, is not lazy thinking. (Not just me Fiona Hill- Putin biographer and bishop auckland's top US Administration Russia expert thinks this).
Or that taking into account the timelines Putin's unusually extreme political efforts - to buy the tories especially Johnson, aid Trump (not necessarily collude but certainly help) as a means to weaken Nato, fund brexit as a way to weaken the EU - are not strategic factors in the tactical manoeuvre of a 40 km traffic jam of materiel outside of Kyiv.
That Johnson sidestepping that journalist's reasonable question of why both the UK and the US are ignoring the spirit if not the letter of the Budapest agreement is basically admitting our word internationally is worthless. Not really a surprise when you take into account johnson Brexit behaviour or vaccine shenanigans or the fact his party and his personal life are in part funded by the 'evil madman' Putin.
I don't know if you are a Johnson apologist or ill informed but ignoring the elephant in the room (the west's enablement of Putin) when trying to discuss why the sofa has huge round footprints on it and the wooden chairs are smashed isn't keeping the thread on track it is putting your head in the sand. To mix metaphors.

Sorting this out would be win-win for them. Gets huge short-term kudos from the West. Preserves the global trade system that's served them so well. And the sanctions have showed them what they need to do to (eg create a rival system to SWIFT) so that they can out-gun the West financially should this happen again.

They're also the only people who can engineer Putin a face saver, so they get kudos with him too
I think your correct, the Chinese won't do anything for nothing, a win win for them

I'm impressed by the way the Ukrainians have fought

Clearly too many people in the upper echelons of the Russian state believed their own propaganda- they thought that ordinary Ukrainians would welcome Russian soldiers as liberators from the evil nazi government. It has been a massive shock that Ukrainians don't want to be run by Russia anymore

But there is a risk that we do the same- we assume that Putin's regime is equally fragile. it isn't. There may well be lost of Russians who would prefer Putin over a modern Western democracy

I've seen plenty of evidence of that with my own eyes. In fact my wife showed me literally 2mins a go her Russian facebook friend claiming all the photos of ruins in Ukraine are from Yugoslavia. Another from Belarus was equally dismissive.

If he is, he’s going a very weird way about it. Although they still will win in the end, his invasion and army is a shambles and his country financially broken and almost alone
All the satellite images of this convoy don't show us much but looks basic, the soldiers captured look young and lost and of course that is if we actually believe the info. He could just be using the low budget theory of if it works it works, counting resistance at the same time, whilst also keeping everything in reserve for a bigger offensive. Who knows, we could do with a modern day battle expert on here.

Certain poster are choosing to ignore the fact that U.K. refused to renew Abramovichs visa back in 2018 Portugal on the other hand granted him citizenship
It’s a bit complicated as Portugal give citizenship to descendants of a branch of Judaism who were expelled from the Iberian peninsula during the time of the inquisition.

It’s under review by genealogists to see if his family tree justifies his being granted citizenship. This was underway before the current shitshow in Ukraine.

The U.K. didn’t renew his visa as a Russian citizen back in 2018 as you said, but he’s since travelled here as an Israeli citizen.

Looks like he’s selling off his properties here before they come under any sanctions. Nice of us to give him the heads up really. I’m sure whatever “sale” takes place will be completely legit and no backhanders will have changed hands.

Had to google it but have a like for the very apt description.
He had a tough life i mean we all have a successful relative/friend but imagine if it was Alexander the Great. gets home "i won the war", " your cousin alexander lost less men beating the persian empire love"
I’ve only been once, was for work. And quite an experience

Young chunky arrives at the airport

Shaven headed youth at passport control “ ah English, which football team do you support?”
YC: “er Sunderland”
SHY “I support Millwall”
YC “yes, they are a good team too”

Takes passport and runs
did you get it back?

I don't blame them either. The amount of mis-information out there is absolutely out of control, it was only last week people genuinely thought a fighter jet shooting down 10 planes was genuine which turned out to be a screenshot from a computer game.

Russian people aren't stupid, they have internet access which is not state-controlled, it's not China or North Korea.

It’s not that far away from China to be honest
