I guess the time for any kind of dialogue has ended as it isn't going to make the slightest bit of difference to Putin. Now a case bulking up the Western edge of Europe.

He has got away with it and sanctions etc are doing nothing (to him) he will keep sending young men to die.

He believes this his war and his time. He surely believes he can’t lose and he’s fighting an enemy well basically looking in the mirror.

We had a bloke (ex-military) doing a Facebook appeal yesterday so dropped a shitload of stuff off. Hope they're not to embarrassed to wear the Arsenal woolly hats I've donated. And god only knows what my mam was saving the 12 tubes of toothpaste for but they're on their way to Poland now.

Don’t get me wrong it’s something he is capable of but he can’t just do it, he doesn’t have a magic key he needs others to agree to it,

Think people sometimes also underestimate the power of the United States of America these days they spend insane amounts of defences and military science.

Putin won’t risk the life’s of millions and millions of Russians.

If Russia succeed in their invasion where does that leave the rest of us.

Where does it leave Taiwan? Japan? South Korea? Other Eastern Europeans? And every other country lorded over by nuclear states?

I just want to know what are we waiting for?

I know nowt about politics, but is the hope not that we can minimise how bad this is? I mean, Putin taking an inch of Ukraine is a disgrace but unless he's deluded as fuck he must have noticed that his army are a bit shit. Seemingly breaking international laws and they're still making very little progress. Its just as well for him that he's got nukes because it's about the only thing people will be afraid of. If he were to get a bit of east Ukraine (not saying I'd agree with it, just thinking out loud) would he really want to invade anywhere else? If he can't even take Ukraine he's absolutely fucked for getting any further unless he wants the world to blow itself up.

So you deescalate things, he manages to claim a win even though everyone knows he's been humiliated. Before long he's dead, and it's likely that subsequent generations of Russians will be much less inclined to be ***** so there could be a political solution which leads to Ukraine being unified again down the line. Like I say, not saying its right, but it's better than guaranteed global destruction
