Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

The article I posted earlier (from last year), basically said Russia has 96 hours from the launch of an attack to capture all of its main objectives before they’d be fucked due to logistics/supply issues.

That particular article was about them attacking Baltic states, but same theories apply.
I'll have a read of that. I really hope it's true and they make absolute fools of themselves, but the concept of that convoy alone is just crazy.

Obvious really. This is to set up for the long haul. Wonder what will happen when it gets close. Increasing violence I’d imagine.

Lt. Col. Alex Vershinin commissioned as a second lieutenant, branched armor, in 2002. He has 10 years of frontline experience in Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan, including four combat tours. Since 2014, he has worked as a modeling and simulations officer in concept development and experimentation field for NATO and the U.S. Army, including a tour at the U.S. Army Sustainment Battle Lab, where he led the experimentation scenario team.

Aye, propaganda works both ways
First couple of days it was all shock and horror and you could see live clips on the news with your own eyes, now it’s got more fierce and the press aren’t as close to the action I think the ukranians are pushing just as much out as the russians

Totally agree Harry. The U.K. is al about getting products for the lowest price rather than considering the ethics behind the product(s).

It will be interesting to see if this expedites the race to make ourselves self sufficient from renewables energy. Sure it will take time but if there is anytime to do it, it’s now.

This from 2014!

How does Europe wean itself off Russian gas?
Ursula von der Leyen president of the European Commission addressing the European Parliament has just said similar to that and the EU shouldn't have to rely on Russian gas and fund their war chest.

I'd have a windmill in my back garden and maybe those that oppose them in fields etc may have a change of mind if it means we can be more independent and self sustained when it comes to energy.

What is they say? Amateurs concern themselves with tactics but professionals concern themselves with logistics.

There was a military advisor on 5live saying the same mate. They needed air superiority within 24-36hrs - they failed; they needed to take all main military objectives within 48hrs -they failed; and finally needed Kiev with 72hrs - yet again they failed.

Their once mighty military is being shown up and it must be killing Putin. Sadly I suspect he will chuck everything at it in the coming hours as he will know the Wests military hardware will be entering the Ukraine pretty quickly

Fascinating watching flight radar , quite abit of activity near the ukraine and Belarusian boarder with nato, polish, us and uk planes buzzing around quite near the boarder

I wonder if Putin really wants the nato supplied planes to get involved so to fuel his justifications ….?
Yep, he’s baiting us. The war crimes will increase until we react. Then boom

It's this bit for a few minutes where she says it's a defining moment and mention becoming independent of Russia and she's reet.

I do wonder if government may seek to change planning rules even on an emergency basis to begin installing renewables quicker? There are still issues to resolve such as land ownership, technology efficiency and viability.

Interesting read that. Seems that if they can keep them out of the major cities for a few more days they wont be able to sustain the fuel and artillery supplies for large scale sieges. Just hope Putin finds a way out that he can spin as a Russian victory back home... unless someone sorts a coup
