I was going to say something similar. During the video there are even a few times the 'Russian soldiers' are looking at other people in the room to check what they're saying is correct. Classic propaganda and I couldn't believe how many people seemed to believe it wholeheartedly in the comments.

We need to be careful because that could be either staged propaganda or the prisoners are being told what to say.

I have to say though it looks genuine, and if it is then word will quickly spread in Russia. That can’t be kept quiet.

It would also explain why the Russian military has been so poor. If the troops have been lied to, their heart simply won’t be in it. It also would explain the many abandoned tanks and equipment that is appearing on social media videos

The alternative was to never let it get to that point in the first place. This could have all been avoided years ago with some sort of agreement barring Ukraine from joining NATO for x amount of years. If Putin had still gone in despite such an agreement then fair enough but I don't think he would have.

He is doing this as Ukraine isn't in Nato
