Said it before, at this point anything Belarus says, it's essentially Russia. So they can have their nukes a few hundred extra miles west. Either way Putin is pulling the strings

Putin cleaned out the 2020 protests in exchange for pretty much the whole country.
Lukashenko pretty much sold his own country out to stay in power.

It's pretty public knowledge over there he rigged the election, just they don't say anything otherwise they get shot - Also wearing anything red or white (or both) is considered support for the democratic party who won the election and gets you shot also.

Belarus lost its political independence following the anti-regime protests, and then the Ryan forced landing controversy, which led Lukashenko to have to capitulate to Putin to save his regime.

Before that he was a mediator in the previous Ukraine crises, hence the agreement was called "Minsk".
Yes; he sacrificed his country's independence to preserve his own hold on power. Hence the head positioning in my metaphor.

Thanks for proving my point so eloquently
And thanks for proving mine.
Look it isn't enough to say 56 tanks and APC full of Chechen special forces were ambushed and killed on the way to Kyiv. It's important why they were there and what they were trying to achieve. The decks of playing cards with top ranking officials on it suggests a coup attempt. So what is the reasoning?
had he been watching the wild geese?
Is putin looking at the instability he has created in his 'real enemies' the US, the EU and NATO and is judging that he can overstep the normal bounds of war because of his influence in the west.
It is the latter point which leads to the 'polemics'. It is fairly reasonable to look at who is funding the next GE campaign in the UK and to wonder what has been bought, or to speculate on whether the EU been a bit hamstrung by diverse elements, or indeed what the effect of god knows how many Americans still thinking Sleepy Joe stole the election has on foreign policy. Believe me that is what is driving Putin these attacks are strategic not tactical

Just look at the current Istanbul - Minsk routing...

European air forces are currently flying in and out of Rzeszow Jasionka Airport in Poland.

RAF Globemaster just about to land there now... The one that Boris was standing next to earlier?

It’s a shame the people are the ones suffering.
Once we join this war we shouldn’t stop until we’ve taken full control of that country

whatever happens Russians should control Russia (and Ukranians Ukraine). i mentioned earlier on the thread that the next generation of russian leaders will not have been around during the Soviet days, i think that's who need to run the country not ex KGB colonels.

Seems amazingly quiet again tonight. After Friday it seems to have died down a lot in Kharkiv and Kyiv. South coast the Russians are making some progress.

Supposedly the Russians were ordered to take Kyiv by Monday so you would assume that the lack of fighting is that they are not currently in a position to launch an offensive. They have split apparently and need coordination, fuel and ammo
Or it’s the calm before the storm. Something big might be lined up. Blocking the highways keeps people trapped in the city

hahahaha.. a Ukranian crew member tried to scuttle the luxury yacht of Alexander Mijeev who's the CEO of the Russian arms export company and an ally of Putin

"My boss is a criminal who sells weapons that kill the Ukrainian people."
