Absolutely not. My OP was responding to a post about UK now taking Ukrainian refugees. I pointed out we were being ***** about it and because of that the gov was getting pelters. Now we are willing to accept them according to Bozo’s presser from a church. That seems like reacting to public opinion imho.

Everytime a cheer goes up for another little victory within Ukraine this is sickeningly present in the back of my mind.

The Ukraine ambassador to the UK said they didn't want people moving to the UK (or other distant countries).

He specifically asked for aid for those countries that border Ukraine so that refugees can be looked after locally, with the hope that they will soon move back home.

The UK obliged and sent a further £40million in aid.
It's nonsense to suggest that the UK is or was refusing to take refugees.
