I also see that the situation is more involved than just good guys v bad guys. As a whole, are the people of eastern Ukraine the good guys or the bad guys? When Adam Schiff stood in front of the senate in 2020 to explain the US is sending arms to Ukraine so it can fight Russia there, was he being a good guy or bad guy?

I respect the sovereignty of Ukraine and have always wished it well on the road to democracy but its being used as a pawn in a geopolitical game, that doesn't sit well with me.

That’s all for another day imho. Until Putin stops the aggression Ukraine are 100% good guys.

Same. Was saying to my wife yesterday it was only because of her and the fact she would be emotionally and financially ruined if I went that I am not. If I was single, renting, with a dead end job in a shop or warehouse then going out there would be an obvious choice for me.

Belarus are having a referendum that will allow Lukashenko to remain in power until 2035 and remove the agreement to remain nuclear weapon free, allowing Russia to house nuclear weapons there.

Allegedly when he came to power he told the oligarchs "50%"

He gets 50% of everything they make and the oligarchs keep the other half.

Either that or they would all end up in jail for not accepting his so called deal. Goes someway to explaining his vast wealth which some people estimate to be 200bn

Lukashenko needs to be careful. he's not russia, he doesn't have the assets or resources russia has. they're a friendless, dirt poor country.
if any military can turn around and tell him to go fuck himself it's them. they will be more isolated than ever if he keeps supporting putin.

Unless Russia call it off and send their troops home then I am afraid Russian deaths are the only way the invasion will be stopped and Ukraine returned to independence. And as regretful as it is, the more deaths and more quickly they happen the better. Obviously must people would rater no deaths and the Russians left and never interfered again.

This is escalating and worrying. He's more unhinged and power hungry than Putin, just with far less resources.

If Belarus get involved does that mean it's now a "European War" that we said we didn't want to start? If they do attack Ukraine themselves will other countries get involved?

They sent a couple of hundred Chechin special forces in, they lasted two days, toasted alive. All 56 tanks evaporated. The chechin leader has said that's them out of this war. See post 10,084

Looked more like a CIA drone attack than anything else...
