while you cant deny Britain profited from its empire (along with France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Spain) I think as this thread is about a current European war crisis, its worth noting that these countries also sacrificed a good couple of generations in the interest of stabilizing the last European war crisis.

What im saying is, Im also glad for the freedoms I have, but im aware that they come at a cost, and were not all obtained through imperialistic greed

This is a russian bot. Dont engage it.

Aye it'll be interesting to see how they gan on from here, it's gone from 'All refugees welcome' and 'Walls Don't Work' to expelling 80,000 in the Pro-EU feminist Sweden and a veritable Fortress Europe - maybe they are finally waking up, and although it'll be a bitter pill to swallow for the usual suspects on here (who will very likely avoid the remainder of this thread) my magnanimous message is "Better late than never EU we've been expecting you";

To be fair mate, I reckon this debate belongs on a different thread. Don't want to derail this one.

That Westinghouse/Toshiba effort was spectacularly flawed.

However lessons have been learnt from that and the Hitachi failed venture.

Any new GDA will go through in 2 years which can run in parallel to the DCO.

With the recently improved funding model there's no reason why we couldn't get one done inside a decade - potentially a lot less if the right kind of pressure is applied to the right places.
You are on something if you genuinely believe that. If you’d ever worked in the industry you’d know this was beyond a pipe dream

Finland threatened..

Reminds me of my French ex telling me she was going back to France with our 3yo daughter and wouldn't even listen to my point of view or compromise. When I told her I would get legal advice she told me if I did that I would never see her again. It was at that point I knew I had to get legal advice.

Long story short my ex lives in France but my daughter lives with me. Careful what you wish for Russia.

Love a happy ending

By multiple countries you mean 2

Afghanistan, was a NATO article 5 response IIRC called for by the USA after the 9/11 attacks. We had no choice due to NATO commitments and why many NATO countries were involved.

Iraq could be argued we were sold a pup by the USA, its was misguided and the reasons for it was poor with hindsight, but it was in response to many issues, steaming from Iraq invading another country.

Not in the same ball park as what Russia has done to Ukraine.
2 means more than one so yes, multiple countries. Most countries have Invaded 0 countries. Russia is invading its second just now, so no big deal right? They've some way to go before they kill as many civilians as the wars we started in those 2 countries.

Russia is at war with the Ukraine.

The UK has been (is) one of the biggest benefactors of and donors to the Russian state in the past decade.

Wars are international now. They effect multiple nations. The fallout of those 2 wars is still being legislated against by this current government. Right now refugees from wars We started are coming over here and our government is making it hard for them to do so.

Will these decisions made around the victims of our wars be applied to the victims of a war started by one of our governments major financial and Infrastructiinal partners?

If you can't see how the two are related, thats fine but it's pretty obvious and far from a hot take.
