What a profoundly reasoned response.

It's goodies and baddies because I say it is and anyone who disagrees is anti-western.

Thanks Mccarthy. Watch out for the Reds under your Bed.

No,

it’s goodies v baddies because people like you can spout your drivel here without fear of a on knock on the door by security services, whilst anti-war protestors in the aggressor nation are currently being rounded up en masse and put in prisons and camps by way of summary justice.

It’s goodies vs baddies because if you disagree with what your govt does, you can vote against them and have your vote counted, or even stand for election against them without fear of your food being laced with something. A luxury those who live under the “baddies” don’t have.

Read the room. If your going to try and spout some pseudo-intellectual self-flagellating, historically illiterate bollocks, then this really isn’t the time or place.

Wouldn’t get a nuclear station built in 10 years in this country. Would take longer than that just to setup the site and sort out the licences. The talk in Cumbria was of a 40-45 year new build programme
That Westinghouse/Toshiba effort was spectacularly flawed.

However lessons have been learnt from that and the Hitachi failed venture.

Any new GDA will go through in 2 years which can run in parallel to the DCO.

With the recently improved funding model there's no reason why we couldn't get one done inside a decade - potentially a lot less if the right kind of pressure is applied to the right places.

France used to be mint at nuclear. Also, we're not that thick here, can't we do it ourselves?
Yeah I'm pretty sure we signed a deal for France/EDF to build them for us? In which case timescales for getting them up and running (along with the cost of energy they produce) will have been agreed at the time and no longer in our hands.

You do realise that there are plenty of troops from other NATO members in those countries too? You make it sound like the UK are going above and beyond here, which there is very little evidence to back up, to be honest. We all need to step up, and you need to stop trying to deflect the blame solely onto other countries. Especially when our own government is so twisted together with Russian money itself and unwilling to genuinely tackle that. And moving troops around within NATO countries is no great shakes TBH.
Very little evidence..... we rolled in to Estonia this morning and along with America have aircraft monitoring....... The Italians are more arsed flogging Gucci to Russia. UK and America leading from the front in Europe and numerous countries are acknowledging that.

This is becoming more and more difficult due to the interest of the right wing press.

The problem is rather than the Government just building the thing we are obsessed with privatising it and relying on businesses who can pull out if the commercial case changes.

The BBC and Sky News keep reporting that Russian armoured vehicle deliberately driving over that civilian car.

They need to be careful here, I honestly don’t think it was deliberate. Seeing the longer video of the incident, I think it was taking evasive measures from a Ukrainian ambush. I’m not defending the Russians in any shape or form but I’m convinced that wasn’t a deliberate act.

The media needs to be impartial and report facts. Otherwise their integrity comes into question and all of their reporting can be questioned.
Aye it's a bit dodgy. There's also photos of the nearby truck with comments that the truck has Russian soldiers dressed in Ukrainian uniform. It’s unlikely both are correct, surely?
To be fair though there’s additional videos of the same incident and the truck also reverses over it.

The irony of you posting this in a year when the most openly corrupt Government in our history funded by Russian interests, who have appointed Russians to peerages, and who are literally legislating
to stop public protest, make voting harder etc through legislation is obviously lost on you.

Or indeed, you telling me to be quiet simply because you disagree with me.

If you can't control your own blood temperature coming across opinions you disagree with while on a site where people are entirely free to aire their opposing opinions, thats on you.

FWIW I know people from countries where precisely those things you talk about take place. And its precisely those people most concerned about the UK Governments anti democratic actions and affiliations and its populations inability to see it. So I'll go by their life experience of actual despotism to inform my moral perspective on the issue.

As for reading the room- God forbid that i taint the sanctity of a principally involved around taking bets as to whether this will be WW3 and how hard Ukrainian lads look.
