The West has found his limit. He's simply not prepared to have another NATO country on his border.

I’ve been speaking to one of them this morning….she’s petrified, her family have nowhere to go but have been told to pack and be ready to evacuate. She’s texting me as bombs are going off not far from her flat.

The very sad reality is nothing can be done right at this moment. Once people can flee safely then the west must do everything it possibly can to allow those people safety.

Not sure how that’ll sit with brexiteers like, more bloody immigrants coming into the country.

Hopefully this. Is every country condemning them refuse to do an ounce of trade ever again the country will collapse just like the USSR did. Let’s hope Russia are bogged down in Ukraine for years and given a few bloody noses.

Do we not? I suppose morals are subjective but from my perspective the developed, peaceful, democratic and powerful west have a moral duty to protect other likeminded states who are less powerful, from unjustified aggression.

We could. But does that mean we should not intervene? Civilian lives are either going to be lost or be living under Russian oppression in Ukraine.

I find it really hard to accept that we are just giving up and letting Ukraine fall.

Ukrainians lived under Russian rule not long ago, a big proportion of people in Ukraine see themselves as Russian and would happily live under Russian rule. This isn’t like Germany invading France for example. It’s more akin to a playground spat over whose turn it is to look after the classroom hamster

We aren’t all heartless bastards. In fact I can’t say I’ve met a single eurosceptic that would deny people fleeing war a safe haven until it’s safe to return home (should they wish to). You should have just stopped after your second paragraph.
