Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

Putin is a massive hero to the Brexiters because of the way he helped deliver Brexit even thought they still pretend that his interference had nothing to do with Brexit
You sure about that? One of the most vehement remainers

Whatever. Troll away.

Ironic that many of Putin's biggest apologists on these shores are flag-waving so-called patriots. If they think they have any sort of bond with the Russian pan-Slavic nationalists, think again. Russki nationalists tend not to think much of the 'Anglos'.

"Instead they have continually escalated the crisis, although even the Ukrainian government have tried to get our politicians to stop making up nonsense about a Russian march on Kiev.

If you want to head off to the front and go shoulder to shoulder with some Ukrainian neo nazis then go ahead."

I’m a vehement remainder?

I did vote remain, as it happens, although not with any enthusiasm at all for the EU, and I was in favour of some sort of Brexit from the referendum result onwards.

Can’t remember mentioning Brexit on here for years, although I may have done.

You seem to have put me in a certain category for some reason.

Has Kiev fallen yet?

Maybe try that again in the morning when you have sobered up

It's a member of NATO too. Said they wouldn't let any Ukrainian refugees in although Romania is putting plans in place to accommodate 500k.

Hungary will only be getting involved to protect their own citizens in Oblast. They think Oblast is rightfully theirs since everyone who lives there has a Hungarian passport.
Because of their NATO membership I don't see them getting involved in any conflict but Orban is a mad idiot who definitely would of if previous regimes got them into NATO.

There's also the self-declared independent state of Transnistria on the Moldovan side of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, despite how far away they are, they consider themselves Russian, where their pensions is paid by the Russian Government, but because of how far away it is, Putin has no interest in yoinking that place. But it shows how far they're willing to go to finance regions which are miles away.

Then where does Putin go next, Poland, Hungary, Romania? The Baltics?
I sincerely hope he's not that far off the plot.

It is a good question, has he not be arming Serbia....
Strange as Serbia is a candidate EU member and I think has made discrete NATO inquiries.

Kosovo may still be a stumbling block though.
